Proper refund and return procedure

I continue to be surprised every day at the number of listings that barely say anything about a knife's condition. Situations like these can be easily avoided. It just creates headaches for everyone and erodes our collective trust in one another. I understand the temptation to try to squeeze every last dollar from your sale but the few additional bucks you might make by hiding some aspect of condition and praying that it doesn't come up isn't worth it at all.

And it doesn't cost to post more words accurately describing the condition. The Gold membership for $25 covers it all! :D

I havnt been around here that long and I'd like to know the proper way to return a damaged item from the exchange and when the refund should be issued. Also when is it appropriate to file a paypal case when the seller is being deceiving? Thanx.

Hopefully you have pictures of the item that was traded that shows the damage.

I had a guy buy a used knife and then claim it wasn't perfectly centered when closed. I told him to return it and I would refund the price. He refused to return it and filed a claim. Paypal blasted him and he finally agreed that he would keep the knife and not return it. I figured this would happen as the price he paid was more than fair, and the knife was used, and I posted pictures from all angles. What he was looking for was some Paypal kickback from me.

Now if you can live with the trade if the other party agrees that it has undisclosed damage and he will refund some bucks that may be the best option.
