Your post made me think of this Norman Rockwell painting.....

Better engrave both sides of the knife, bolster to butt end! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Years ago, there was a guy on our crew who 'bought most of his tools at the swap meet'. That's why they all had scratched out names and then his added. I was a vigilant lock user!
I guess I'm too dense to get that one. What is the seated dude even doing? Tattooing a love letter on the other guy's arm? And I don't understand why he's sitting down with scissors in his back pocket. Looks dangerous.

Rabbit, itโ€™s the other white meat. OH

That reminds me of two things. One is the Russian first officer in "The Hunt for Red October," played by Sam Neil, whose dream was to emigrate to Montana and raise wabbits for food.

The other . . . from the movie "Roger and Me" . . .

We were all pretty unsafe in those days. Some of the braver folks would even run with them.

That picture is a real good anecdote about why you should never get a tattoo of your girlfriend's name.

Got a real good feeling about Betty though.

In for a wabbit to keep the collection whole (well, back to 2009 anyway) -
Thanks for picking up the ball once again, waynorth waynorth

On the moors above Sheffield, there are Arctic hares, or 'blue hares', as they are known there

Yes.... the jackrabbit (I think) is actually a hare, not a rabbit. I think they are kin to the swamp rabbits.... I tried to eat one once. Pan frying is NOT the way to cook a jackrabbit. I'm not really sure what the "best" way is. It might be in the same category as "how to cook a carp"....

I made stew out of a โ€œsnow hareโ€ that one of my coworkers ran over with a snowmobile one night when I made snow at a ski area. I think they are technically a jack rabbit. It was pretty gamey but not horrible. In the future Iโ€™d probably age meat a few days and braise in the oven.

You guys remember the movie "Thunderbolt & Lightfoot" with Clint Eastwood. They get a ride with that crazy guy who rolls his car over, then opens the trunk and there is 100 rabbits jumping out every where.

Yea, and then if I recall he starts shooting them with a shotgun...

You can roast or grill Carp.
Hares are best cooked in a pressure cooker
like most wild game it is better if you let it marinate one full night in a mix cognac/red wine seasoned with thyme, sliced carrots, small onions, pepper.
Then brown it both sides in a little oil and cover with some of mix, including carrotts and onions plus some lardons.
Let simmering a good half hour and enjoy with pastas or rice. This (and a few other recipes) is the only reason I miss ex-MoL

In the Sรผndgau ( part of Alsace near Switzerland) the specialty is fried carp in semolina. The best way to eat that too fat fish. ๐Ÿ˜‹
