Proposed Gun Ban, Off Topic.....BUT......

oh man, things are sure changing... this sucks. i was born way too late i think. whats is this country coming to. first winchester quits making guns, now camillus is out of business.. and now, they want to take EVERYthing from us. this country is soo different, than what it was just 30 years ago. we have sure let it slip man.. im going to write those guys a letter. in fact my whole team will. those guys are idiots up there. like a ban will help anything.. hell, if you go to dunhams sports, where theres the hunting rifles, and the assault rifles, and you yank all the 'bad guy' rifles off the rack, leaving only scoped 30.06's, and some nut gets fired from his job, and wants to buy a gun to do something bad with.... youve left him with nothing but a freakin sniper rifle lol. a scoped centrefire bolt gun. the most dangerous gun on the rack... oh well, it dont matter. at any rate, i gotta write this letter.

but on the view of how fast we as americans will fold, with the military at our door step? im not soo sure on that. first off, i HOPE that our own military will say 'no, we wont disarm our own citizens' because they are all pro gun as well. secondly, what happened to the posse comitatus law?

Can they crush a revolt? with the amount of technology they have now? they sure can. but does technology crush revolts? nope. boots on the ground does. but after soooooooo many servicemen are returned from iraq, and ets'ed by now, they have a reeaaal good understanding, of how to defeat the u.s. military, on city streets :) it would be the sunni triangle all over again.
but these arent morons that they would be fighting against here. these are prior military, and seasoned hunters, with high power rifles. Just in michigan alone, i believe in 2005, there were around one million deer tags issued if im not mistaken. (my buddys brother works for the dnr here) If the balloon went up, i believe most would back down. but the few that didnt, and stood up, would cause a little chaos. if that chaos couldnt be contained quickly, it would eventually erupt into something i think the governments people couldnt handle. Were a ways away from all this craziness though.
But I tell ya what, everyone in my team does agree, that we will see some sort of major events happening in our own lifetime. Something that involves bullets, not protests. Our government is really letting things slip. like someone said earlier in this thread, theres quite a few hot issues on the stovetop right now, and its gettin even hotter. That gunbill is nonsense, and I aint givin up shit, that i busted my ass for.
About the ONLY way, i will give up ANY firearm, is if you cut me a check, for the exact amount I paid for it. And we all know that wont happen...

I will say it like Charleton Heston said. They can have my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands. I wont give up my guns but I will give up some lead.

They may think that they can disarm us but they cant. It would be impossible for them to do that without physically destroying the country. The number of pro gun people in this country far outnumber the military. I will never give up my guns no matter what I have to do.

Hell we can't disarm the people in Iraq and collectively they have the resources of maybe "Skunk and a half".

Yea tell me about it lol. Well.. we COULD but.. it would take some doing. noones even watching their borders. syria's shippin em weapons by the truckloads.. oh well.

What the DEMONCRATS (yes i meant demon) understand is that the 2cnd amendment was intended to allow the people to protect themselves from their own Government as well as each other and enemies of our freedoms! the part of protection from their government is what scares them, as they wish to dictate the people who have elected them! They offer taxpayer freebies to get your vote and in return desire to strip you of your freedoms so that they can then dictate you! PEOPLE IF YOU DONT WORK YOU DONT EAT! i will NEVER trade my freedom for freebies! If you do then you deserve what you will surely get. Demoncrats are for government not the people! Yes there are some decietful Republicans but untill something better comes along (i.e. constitution party) the republicans have my vote. Democrats dream of a government where they cant be removed from power! hmmm kinda like a group of husseins...

Hey you know what… it is threads like this that make me want to limit my exposure to Blade Forums. The gun control issue has been beat to death for about 15 years longer than the “Why can’t I find a Busse to buy” issue.

I’m all for guns but I find these threads to be huge bummers. The issue is far more complicated than what can be discussed here. Do as Progunner suggested and write to your representatives. Yes it is an important issue and so are many other issues. I just don't want to deal with them here.

Can we leave this stuff over in Politics or something? I’m just tired of reading negative crap here. I'll look at the political forum when I feel like I'm too happy.

Thanks,
Tony G

hey shadowblade. each household is allowed to have one yes..but only when they behave. a lot of the time theyre taken away from them. you can have your ak in the house only. ya cant be outside with it, or be carrying it. that right there gets them taken away. whey they fire em at weddings, that gets em taken away too. we took a lot of them to be honest. lol. (we as in the army, and the units we worked with, not my team directly) I felt really bad for them too. at any rate, whats this bill trying to do. no 10/22's? YEA. NOW well be REAL safe lol. them dam 10/22's are just straight up assault rifles lol. i bet you a million dollars, the person/s that wrote up that bill, have a gun in their house.

Ha, ha. Iraqis seem to have more rights than we do. An American walks down the street with a loaded assault rifle, or fires rounds in the air at a party, he is going to jail . . . and rightfully so. An Iraqi handles a firearm in an irresponsible manner, it gets taken away . . . and an hour later he goes to the market and buys another.

ALL the anti-gun politicians own guns. They're not anti-gun . . . they just don't want you to have one! It is an elitist mindset.

they do totally. i remember kidding around with the rest of the guys (were all staunch pro gun on our team) and we were like "dam, WE cant even have ak's in our houses lol" (well, ya can but, theres this rediculous 200 dollar bribe, i mean tax stamp, that all of a sudden, makes an 'illegal gun' not soo illegal anymore) Its just stupid. but, i sort of feel for those guys. its total gang warfare over there. they need some sort of protection.
