I heard from him yesterday. He had it in his hand while conducting a meeting at his gun club.:D I bet he had their attention.

I'll bet! It is a large knife - larger than the pictures really tell.

He told me he got it stuck in a log the other day. When it came out, the knife was undamaged but not the log.:D

I've been busy lately so haven't done much testing yet. That said, here are a few pics. The first was seven chops with a Gerber hatchet, seven with RonM80's Busse BME, and seven w/Mack's knife. In all fairness, the Gerber & Busse chops were taken back during the summer, while Mack's were taken a few days ago in 14'F weather. Same log was used for the batoning. IMO, it's a not a chopper, and the log was too thick and frozen to continue. I actually drove it half way down, but didn't have much left to hit except the blade tip so stopped. It's blowing and snowing as this is typed, so I'll wait for a clearing before continuing...

Hi Melvin-Purvis -

Cool - the old 7 whack test - that is a good idea!

It would make a difference if the wood was frozen, but I agree that the knife is not a chopper with the slender blade.

It is a beauty though - thanks for the pictures and update -

Any more than seven whacks and you're playing with yourse...oh, never mind. ;)

Those pics are cool. What's all that white stuff on the ground. I thought it was supposed to be warm this winter.:D

OK Mack, I'm done, it's sharp enough - shipping out tomorrow am...thanks for the loan, that was fun! :D

That was from the tip of the tip. I was knocking some light surface rust off the spine with some 600 grit and went just a little too far; it tagged me through the paper on the back stroke...

I'd say the knife is sharp enough. The user on the other hand...:D
Thanks Shel.

It arrived home safe and sound today. SWMBO said Wow, this is huge!!!
I love it when she talks that way.:D

Hi Mack -

Glad it arrived home! I miss that puppy, but come March I'll have a replica!

That I like to hear. I was just noticing that mine doesn't have a 1 stamp. I assumed that John didn't think there would be a 2.;)
What handles are you getting?
