Prove Me Wrong!!!

Bluntly, you're playing a game in which you've set arbitrary standards, asked for something and are now proceeding to tell everyone that, in good faith, answers your question how they're wrong. It's self-gratifying silliness. I'm glad you found a knife you enjoy. There are dozens in the price range that compete with it very effectively in terms of materials and quality. In the future I recommend just telling everyone you really like the knife instead of indulging in this kind of ridiculousness.
Respectfully disagree, it’s his game and if we don’t like his rules we can just ignore :)

You're a noob that thinks they've discovered the holy grail because you bought a knife you like. You're not a mod, so you don't get to make the rules for any post here, I'm not either, so neither do I, but I'm free to respond in any way that doesn't violate forum rules.

I stand entirely by my statement that this thread is nothing more than you attempting to pat yourself on the back so hard that you dislocate your shoulder, but in the interest of not derailing it any further I'll simply say this, The CIVIVI Appalachian Drifter 2 uses comparable to superior materials, has better action and is less expensive. Next time just tell everyone you like the knife a lot and we'll all celebrate with you.
This is feeling similiar to the ad10 thread.

Yup. I can also point out that I know precisely what this game is, I've seen it dozens, if not hundreds, of times from new posters over the years and point out that it's not going to get much of a positive response here. This one happens to have caught me when I have a surplus of time and a deficit of patience.

The Kershaw Link in 20cv. It is Made in the USA, has phospor bronze washers, and can currently be had for $75 new.
^ this ^ or better yet the KC barenuckle in 20CV can hang with any knife in its price range.
Edit- it’s on bearings. But no A/O

Not a noob, been carrying pocket knives for 30 years, great ASSumption though. Not my grail, my PJ Sebenza is my EDC grail and it gets the majority of the pocket time.

My post equals my rules. Great job making a knife suggestion on the Civivi, good contender!

Haha fair enough, I’m still a noob here but something I really appreciate so far is how rarely posts seem to go south like they do on so much of the rest of the internet!

I'll pick spyderco delica k390 over that GM Knife any day of the week. The backlock of delica holds the blade safely in place when closed. The spyderco hole is fun and easy to operate. k390 is better than m390 for where I am and what I use a folder for. For small and lightweight folders, The FRN scales are a brilliant choice.

Now that’s a proper case made!!! just curious, have you held and operated an Iona in person? The blade isn’t ever coming out because of the strong detent. My personal preference is the thumb stud deployment of the blade when there is a good detent, flies open with authority but this is just my personal preference. I find my Delica is a much different experience, a great experience but different.

Iona is a liner lock correct? Overall I feel the blade retention on backlock is better than liner lock. I am not saying the blade of Iona will fall out by itself. And no - I have never tried one.

I also think Delica looks better.

I think this debate really boils down to personal preference rather than the said Knife is better than any other in its probably range, in an absolute sense.

Iona is too small for my liking. If laws required a sub 3" blade, it would be on my list.

I also found a Spartan Blades Astor for $94 from a well known online company. I used a 10% off coupon found on some yt reviewers, free s/h on all orders, so $84+tax got me 3.5" of CTS-XHP (one of my favorites) and some nice G10 green scales. Ok, maybe CTS-XHP is one, small notch below M390.

As for has to have PB washers, etc. That is all subjective.

I own the 2 knives above and would put them in a similar class as the Iona. YMMV.

The Iona was a cheap way to get M390 but steels in this class are making their way in to more lower price knives. If this is a distinguishing trait, it may not be one much longer.

How about the $70 M390 QSP Penguin? The Kizer Begleiter in 20CV was $80 recently.

Almost, don’t think the speed safe assisted open is comparable and will fail eventually and then the knife is useless. I had an old school SOG with assisted opening that I paid about $100 for and after 6 months the assisted open failed and now it’s useless. Washers can always be cleaned and oiled.

This got my curiosity going. I de-assisted my 0350 just to see how well it would work, and how easy it would be to do. It wasn't hard to do and works fine, although I definitely wish the detent was stronger. I might just keep it this way.

What I did learn is that the Link would not be useless if the speed assist failed.

Some knives, like the 0357, will not flip well at all w/out the torsion bar. Other ZTs however work fine de assisted like the 0770 and 0566.

Responding to any thread titled "Prove Me Wrong" is an exercise in futility.

I reserve the right to decline offering my opinion, because surely it is wrong.

I'm glad you like your knife - that is all you had to say.
