The Kizer Guru in full Ti, washers and framelock at $99 blows the GM Ace out of the water.

Aesthetically, I’ll take the CIVIVI Pintail in upgraded micarta with better action and an $83 price tag.

The Kizer Feist comes in various configurations and I’d take most of them over your Iona.

Personally, I’m not wowed by GM. My GM3 had issues that required warranty service and I have an Ace Clyde that has mediocre action and won’t center. I’m likely out on future GM knives unless they really impress me.

I’m glad you enjoy your knife but as usual, stating an absolute is absolutely wrong.

Good suggestion on the Kizer Guru. I have a few Kizers and I like phosphor bronze washers over bearings but that’s just my preference. Does anyone know where to send a Kizer back for warranty or service, truly asking. The mini sheepdog got me into the Kizer brand, big fan.

I literally issued what was supposed to be a fun challenge ASKING for possible competitors that would make a better case!!!! I never claimed it was the greatest and never claimed it was my grail as some immediately jumped to. How does everything get so nasty so quickly??? This got my curiosity going. I de-assisted my 0350 just to see how well it would work, and how easy it would be to do. It wasn't hard to do and works fine, although I definitely wish the detent was stronger. I might just keep it this way.

What I did learn is that the Link would not be useless if the speed assist failed.

Nice! May I ask what keeps the blade from falling out without a detent? The one that failed on me just falls open without any resistance.

They actually do have a detent hole on the blade and a ball in the lockbar. IIRC the 0357 does not have a hole drilled on the blade…so basically no detent.

I’ve literally told 2 different members I like their suggestion, complemented others as well as liked others posts. You don’t have to participate if you think it’s a waste of your time, it was just supposed to be fun. By the way, I can agree abs disagree with anyone or anything I choose, it’s called having an opinion. It’s ok if someone disagrees with you just like it’s ok if someone agrees. So much hatred and negativity, what in the world. Go back and read my responses, I wasn’t rude, I acknowledged good points and I’m open to suggestions. Seems like some irritable people on here are ASSuming something about me as a person or ASSuming this post is something it isn’t. I’ll close the thread since everyone is so offended so easily. Just issued a fun challenge looking for competitors in a certain price range. GEEEEEEEEEEZ. Thanks to those who made good suggestions.

Seems like it came down to some Kizer Models, some Civivi, MKM looked like they were around $200 for the about the same, QSP Penguin in 154CM and ceramic bearing is a good one as well. I still think the Delica is different but get the thinking, the Manix 2 suggestion I believe in Rex45 for $125 is another strong contender.
