PSA regarding PayPal payments

You can dial back the drama a bit. Nobody said anything about back breaking labor. The fact is, people often DON'T include their address when paying with F&F.

When I package and ship ten packages in a day and one paid F&F but didn't give me shipping info, it's an inconvenience for me when I'm geared up to do shipping and a PO run. If I have to message them and wait for a response, it causes me some headache and costs them at least another day or two of waiting.

If you're day is simpler than that....good for you.

Take your argumentative, eternally contrarian opinions on PayPal fees and taxes somewhere else. That's not the point of this thread and I couldn't care less about your opinions on that subject.
The moderators have already moderated on the taxes thing. Don’t need to hear you chirping at me too. If sending one extra message to confirm an address is really that laborious, I don’t know what to tell ya. But it isn’t exactly a selling point for g&s to say “hey guys! Guess what! You don’t need to ask for their address!”

Have made 4 F&F purchases here recently, and it took till the 4th one to provide my address without being asked. Just so used to G&S...

I said what I said. My reasoning is valid and I don't have to justify it to you. Don't like it?......butt out and move along.

I've got better things to do than waste another moment replying to your drivel. I'll let Blues Blues handle the thread from here as he sees fit.

Stop engaging with me if you have an issue. Tagging supermods because you don’t like my opinions is quite a copout, considering I never tagged or quoted you and you started swinging at me first.

Kenny, stop engaging. Or take the matter to PM or the dumpsters. There was useful information being provided in this thread and now we're being sidetracked by off-topic b.s. (I know it takes two or more to tango, but you always seem to get embroiled...so do me this small solid.)

How about we get back on track? (And that means leave the IRS, and gov't policies out of it. I really don't feel like handing out warnings.)

Thanks.

O.P., feel free to close the thread if you feel your PSA's message has been delivered.

I have been lucky with using FF for quite some time. Always cautious though. The only time I've been scammed was as a seller accepting GS.

Normally I avoid it, but like it or not, it's becoming the new reality. 2 were low-cost items that I wasn't too worried about, but the other 2 were both $400+ knives that I really wanted, so took the chance. Tried to be careful, but if either had gone sideways, I'd only have myself to blame.

While I have never been in favor of f&f for any purchases, it seems the OP is pointing out how it can effect his business working in an a efficient manner. When you get an order without all the information to process that order, it causes delays and extra work. The reporting by PP might actually be helpful as well
Hope I got that right
Seems valid to me
And you are not doing him any favors paying F&F

Why is a business using F&F? Time for a business account.

Some sellers say that they take PayPal, but do not specify whether that includes G&S. In that case, since I only pay through PayPal G&S, I would need to PM the seller first, before I could claim that I will take the knife. That is another extra step, but it’s better than having to back out of the purchase upon finding that they only accept F&F.

Exactly right. Thank you.

The business wasn't. Had you read to the end of my very first post, you would have seen that. And I have a legit business and business account (and accountant to match), thank you.

Some people automatically pay that way, ASSUMING its doing me a favor, which it isn't. It causes me delays and extra trips to the post office and delays the buyer receiving their goods an extra day or two at least because I'm not running back to the post office again that day and maybe not the next day either.

Sounds like you ship out a few knives per day. With a business account, Friends and Family is not an option. Trying to save you some headaches.

Isn't there a way for seller to generate a Paypal invoice for the buyer also? I don't have a business account so have never done that myself but I have purchased from a maker here on the forum who sent an invoice by email straight from Paypal.

I have a PayPal business account. Some people can't pay with F&F and some can. I can't say why that is.

But all of this misses my point. If you pay with F&F, the seller can't see your shipping info.

I think we're all set here.
