*pst* I see some more 0551's...

I got 1191 from Dave. Beautiful knife. Just perfect!

So there were 1088 pieces produced, and some serial number were skipped?
 
The one I received from Dave yesterday is 0891. F&F are excellent. Blade is centered, smooth action, the lockup is just right and its flickable.
 
I received #958 from Dave a couple of days ago, like the knife quite a bit, blade finish is what i like best on it. :D:thumbup:
 
I have one arriving by the middle of the week, it'll be my first ZT so hopefully it'll be a nice as everyone has made it out to be. Looks to be a very well made knife from all the reviews I've watched and pictures I've seen. There I was minding my own business, saving up my pennies for the next knife on my "to buy" list, the CRK umnumzaan and then I receive an email informing me that more ZT 0551's are in stock and I had forgotten that I asked to be put on this list. I thought that the 0551's were gone for good (sold out) and what I'd be buying was the regular production model 550(?) so I was very surprised to learn that in fact what I've got on the way is the 0551.

I haven't followed this closely, was their intent always to ship out another 80 or so 551's? I can't wait to get it and try it out. What do you guys make of the Elmax steel? Does it hold an edge better or on par than S30V as far as you can tell? My current EDC is the A.G.Russell Acies and frankly I'm stunned that I enjoy that knife as much as I do, I'd heard that ZDP-189 was brittle but I've seen no signs of that whatsoever and NOW I can't wait to give the Elmax a try.
 
I bought mine from New Graham Knives, the website says they still have 7 (at last check) in stock. Best of luck!
 
I apparently missed the NGK stock. If anyone has intel on other vendors, please give a shout via email or PM.

Edit: I also called to confirm. Not certain if the site was tracking inventory correctly. NGK is going to get back to me.
