OK guy's
ya drove me to it, been reading all the stories. about Fallkniven for months. Todays post about fallkniven vs BRAVO-1 drove me over the edge, I love my bravo-1 but now i need to find out first hand how good the F1 really is.Been searching for the perfect blade for thirty years or more Randall #25 and Bark River Bravo-1 are close. maybe the F1 will finally end my search.:D

i'm sure your going to love it.... it is an awesome knife....

i've had mine a little over a year or so.. i didn't care for the sheath mine came with, so i ended up getting a custom kydex sheath with a firesteel loop, from normark.... :D

This is the F1 i made with thuya burl scales.

You'll be very happy. I have two and wouldn't hesitate to get a third if the price were right.

Enjoy!

How does the F1 stack up against the Bark River Fox River.not looking for which is better but what you think each excel's at being that they appear similar.

I carry my Fox River almost 99% of the time when outdoors. I really like the A2 steel used and its edge holding ability. Mike Stewart really hit the nail on the head when he designed it. The times I am near saltwater fishing or beach bumming, I have my F1's. Again, edge holding and the geometry of the convex edge win out over lesser quality/designed knives.

Sorry for the dirty pic

The Fox River is my personal choice for small fixed blade. However, I don't want to subject it to saltwater if I don't have to. The same goes for the leather sheath. My Fallknivens are both in synthetic sheaths, one by Fallkniven and one by Survival Sheath Systems.

In sum, both are excellent knives and either one will suit a person well for general utility. This one just happens to be my favorite and the one I carry most often.

I re-handled my F1 with black linen Micarta, w/red spacers.
...saved about 100 bucks doing the Micarta slabs myself.

Looks nice!

I have been thinking about doing the same thing with stainless pins, Natural canvas micarta and blue (maybe green) spacers.

I recently bought a F1 , and the U2 folder. I am impressed with them both. Super sharp straight out of the box. Keep them sharp with a Sharpmaker.

I had the kydex sheath with the F1, but have now got the fold over leather one direct from Fallkniven. It covers the knife better , and is more secure.

You cant go wrong with these knives.

Yeah....that's definitely the way to go. The blank blade costs around 75.00 on line, Mic slabs 5.00. Cheapest F1 on line w/ Mic slabs is around 208.00. The only thing, with the blank, you have to finish around the "edges" from the plunge back and around the tang. But, no problem.

You'll love the F1. Its simply a winner design...

I don't think you'll regret getting the F1. As I see it, it's one of the very best knives ever produced in the world. All about function and performance, no unneeded bling.

+1 on the F1, I love mine. It should keep you happy but I gave up looking for the "perfect" knife a long time ago. I can always find a reason to buy and try another:)
