Purchased new BK9

^^^Thats how I feel. I live in an apartment, so the closest thing I have to a workshop is a spare bedroom, and a box full of hand-tools. Very frustrating, especially since I grew up with my dad's workshop in our garage, drill presses, bandsaws, belt sanders, bench grinders....all the fun stuff. Now I have to figure out how to do stuff without a heavy-duty workbench (the worst part) and any power tools, save for a cheap power drill. I'll be digging my old dremel outta storage though, neighbours be damned about the noise lol.

I've shined up to an instructor in the local tech. school. He let me sand blast my motorcycle headers with their equipment and custom grind shovels with the industrial bench grinders to suit my needs. Ask nicely, all they can do is say no.

a 9 eh? awesome!! Mine got a little rust on it when I was chopping down the forest in the rain and then left it in the sheath for a few days, but don't worry, just keep using it and my rust has mostly gone. good choice for a knife!

they come today! woot woot! just in time too bc in the AM i have trail clean up duties. we have some 4 wheeler trails that need to be expanded and cleaned up some from all the brush and tree growth. this will give me a chance to give it a whirl.

i have not got home yet. still at work. just saw the arrival date was today via usps.. usps doesnt swing by the house until 5pm or so anyway. still, i am excited. going to cut some shit up tomorrow AM cleaning trails. hunting season is around the corner and i need to start getting my trails and etc ready for that

If so use the blue Loctite, the red is like welding the two together and is a SOB to get loose....

I don't like using loctite on Beckers. I like being able to ever so slightly shift the positioning of the scales for comfort.

Same here......Just helping hung-solo out incase he didn't know about the blue/red loctite

Mustard applied with a chip brush in random pattern, sits for 20 minutes, washed off with apple cider vinegar and reapplied 3x.

If you search "the rattler" it gives a how to with pics
thanks for the info!

Off topic, but Clich, how did you change your name from Clichtenwalner1, to Clich?

No loctite just check them once in a while. I run stock Grivory handles. It's all preference. Try different things an modify as you go.

a little blood on those steel bolts will set them nice :)

so i got both the knives in over the weekend. however most of clearing i needed to do i had to use something more robust than the becker 9 (chainsaw / ax). so i did not get to use it yet. sucks i know but it will get used soon.. the little knife is neat. it was not as sharp as i like for it to be so i am going to work on that soon. the BK9 came out of the box razor freakin sharp.. oh and straight too! hehe... nice knife indeed. just wish i could camp more. we have not camped in over a year. driving me nuts.

Question:

how do i attach the BK9 sheath to my maxpedition falcon II? straps? i was planning on attaching it to the side of my pack for when i do hit the woods. its too big to wear on my hip.

Best answer so far. Period.

I've been considering buying a BK9 for awhile now, and I think I'm going to pull the trigger. I've got a BK14 and I plan on buying a custom sheath to piggyback it on the 9. So, after seeing all the love for the 9, I think I'll be buying one on this next paycheck.
