I am interested in how many people purchase ON-LINE & how their experiences have been with the companies they have purchased from.
Who is the best that you have had experience with?
Why would you purchase from them again?
Having bad experiences with certain copmanies why would you choose not to purchase from them again?
Thank You For you time & consideration?

Recommend searching the archives, there are hundreds of posts right in this forum that will answer your questions.

Before and after becoming a dealer, I have had great transactions with Patrick at Triple Aught, Mark at MJS, Kevin Pensinger at The Edge, Mike Payne at Knives and Things, Jeffrey and James at Spearpoint, Travis at Red Canyon, Jeff at Confederate...the list goes on and on.

Yep, look around......you will be able to tell who to shop from around here. But, for the most part, most individuals & dealers have been classified as GOOD!

One thing. If you are not sure of the integrity of the person with whom you are dealing, use a credit card to pay.

If the other person does not fulfill his obligations, then you simply inform your credit card company. They will ask you for your story, and the other person presents his case. What happens if the person with whom you had a contract 'fails to perform' (i.e. fulfill his obligations), which is usually the case, the credit card simply issues you a charge back, that is, credits your card with the money that you were charged.

Doing business with a credit card saved me about $1,000 from a vendor who 'failed to perform.' The vendor attempted to spread rumors of my alleged unsavory conduct, however, once I explained to people who asked, that I had returned the knives to him in an unopened package, and he wished to possess both the knives and the money I spent for them, the attempt at libel failed miserably.

Subsequently, this vendor has had posts publically asking him to contact his creditors.

Use a credit card!! Walt

As Walt said, use a credit card whenever feasible. If not, us a USPS money order. If a vendor fails to deliver the goods when paid for by a USPS money order it constitutes mail fraud, at which time you can use the power of the federal government to seek a remedy.

I've gotten all my knives online and have only found one bad apple (documented elsewhere on this forum) out of 12 or so different dealers. Even thru the "remote" experience of buying online you can get a sense of the integrity and professionalism of most places.

Hey Ferret, are you going to let us know who the one guy was? I know it was probably the same person that I had trouble with, and his name is _ _ _. Really though most everyone around here are A OK. Good Luck!
