Purna and Lachhu First and Second Prize Khukuri

Lachhu #2 has arrived. I can tell you it does not disappoint. Nice character in the horn hafting, first class sheath. What really stands out on this one is the balance. It is listed at 41 oz., but I can wield it with greater speed and less fatigue than my 34 oz. M-43(Ok, the adrenaline levels are up, and I find my 43 to be somewhat unwieldy, but it is much better balanced for its weight.) The balance just has to be felt to be believed. Very pleased with this new center piece in my modest collection.

Extremely awesome NDog. That looks so much larger when seen resting in your lap. It is so well scaled that it sure doesn't appear that large in the pictures without something to compare it to.

Arbiter, Sounds like yours is something special too. Can't wait to see some additional pics of yours if you have some available? Otherwise I will just scroll back to the originals and drool on my keyboard some more to them :D

My apologies everyone, but I am not a tech savvy guy. Some day I will learn how to post pics, in the interim, may I suggest going to youtube and watching the Bir Gorkha picnic video for a very good look at these two blades. Khukuri contest starts at about 17:30.

Send me the pics and I can help you post them.

I keep goin back to that video for some reason:rolleyes: I like to see how the guys respond to the camera when they are dancing and such. You can tell they are not used to being on camera. Even Purna looked confused there for a second. Lachhu seemed a bit more welcome to the camera. They all look like they were having a blast tho:thumbup:

Arbiter: Did you get the paper contest tag with yours?

ND-Unfortunately I did not get the hand written note from Pala with my blade-I checked all the packing very carefully twice to be certain whether it was there or not, and alas, not included. Can't say enough about the blade though, and I bet you feel the same way about your Purna #1!
