Nowadays, nearly five months. He dont pay back my payment $1700 or the knife, even any waybill vouchers or insurance vouchers.

Today, EMS tells me the tracking number is not a available number!!
He didnt ship it out, or he have never had it.

Dont trust anyone easily, even if he is long-time ID, this is my lesson. He is the first fraud I've met here. I hope he is the last one. :balrog:

I believe the knife's original picture was taken from www.nordicknives.com , the background, lighting, etc... are all the same. You could try writing them, and see if they remember where the knife was sold, if they had it.

It looks like a scam to me, same type of thing was happening to Randall collectors a few years ago.

www.nordicknives.com tells they have not sold it to Shraga. Shraga has never owned it. A swindler!!!!!

First, I'd go to your local police and start a criminal case against the scammer, then I'd go to the Israeli embassy or consulate and see if they have any interest in pursuing/helping with this. It's really a damn shame that it happened to you, but it reminds all of us that we have to use our heads and protect ourselves. I just did a multi-thousand dollar overseas transaction buying knives with no problems, BUT the seller was a well known knife collector and I didn't need references in that particular case. Otherwise I'd be VERY hesitant to buy from an individual and I'd use EXTREME caution in verifying him before sending money. That's one reason buying from established well known dealers is worth the money, even if they charge a bit more, everyone has to make a profit or they couldn't stay in business.
 
The locals won't be much help, as for the Israeli consulate if they were helpful the bigtime Israeli scammer might not have become a bigtime scammer.

My guess is that the person picking up the money used a ficticious name and has already enjoyed the $1700

Probably a "chalk this one up to a brain cramp transaction" with a lesson learned to never be scammed again.
 
That's the reason I use paypal for knife transactions. It's not perfect and somethings about pp truly suck, but it does offer some level of protection.
 
Contact the Israeli attorney geberal. While Israel will not extradite, the will prosecute their own for their wrongdoings.

Your best bet if you want justice is to make positive ID of the person that got the money then travel to Israel and file a Civil Suit in the Israeli Courts.

Criminal action, with all the responsibility for recovery on Law Enforcement willl be fruitless, if you want justice you will be needed in Israel to get it thru their civil system of justice.

Time to just chalk this up as a lesson learned.
