Puukko

Hi Guys -

I do not have a pukko, from what I see, it would have a bit of a barrel-shaped handle along with the scandi blade.

I think John could do that, but I have never seen a JK with a totally round-profiled handle before -

Interesting idea -

Maybe it was my JK SSS - Small Simple Scandi that Sean was remembering -

I am surprised that nobody else ever ordered one of these little jewels - perhaps I will have to do a review of it - I will bring it to the gathering and get everyone to provide some input to the review, then post when I get back to the cornfield.

My JK Phoenix was awesome. I loved it and it cut like like a boss! It was a very nice scandi grind. I miss it often but it was auctioned off to help that little angel Hanna!

Mykel I'll be watching for yours to go up :)

As for on topic I would be very interested in a puukko blade from John! Definitely the blade shape of the stacked handled version with some nice micarta on it!

Excuse me but I have the original Phoenix and it is very sharp. Scandi grind. And I have a pocket scandi by John that is a fantastic little knife! Very sharp too. I'll be watching for this Phoenix...maybe I'll get it for my son...

The idea of a good round handle and a scandi grind really appeals to me. I love round handles and have been wanting to see if John would make one for a while. I just haven't asked for some stupid reason.

Yes and with John's 01 should be a killer knife

it will be a race to the finish sir. I need to replace mine :)

The Bushcrafter with a slightly rounded handle and scandi grind would also be an excellent choice.

John I've seen your Scandi's and they were great. I can usually tell how a knife will cut just by looking at it, and I would be proud to own any of your knives:thumbup:

I`ll be making one of these in the next couple of weeks, just to see how it turns out.

Have you ever done a round handle? I've really been interested in one.

Just round. I like the idea of a round, full tang chunk of O1.
Thanks.

Profiled one out this morning, will heat treat it with the other blades on Tuesday.

I was looking at the Custom Designed Knife thread thinking it would be pretty cool to draw up a puukko to have John build for me and then while researching ideas for size and how to do a combo of a full tang with the traditional looking round puukko handle I came across this thread.

Did the idea of this puukko go any further?
