Ordered a Spyderco Spyderfly from them a month ago (1st of November) and have not yet received it. Then again, international shipping takes some time too.
As the seller is reputed to be an honest though busy man (Bladeforums feedback) , I should still receive my balisong at some time, right?
Just curious what are your experiences and if my trust is well-placed?

Becoming a knife addict is not quite as easy as various forum members from the US make it out to be. May patience be thy first virtrue!:D

A couple months ago I ordered one from Josh and when it "finally" arrived it was the wrong spyderco bali. Well I paid for it also and he was to then send my szabofly which is what I had originally bought. Well it took over 2 more weeks and many unanswered emails to get it. When the szabofly arrived it had a dark spot and light spot on it and I had went through so much to get it I didn't dare ask for an exchange. I for 1 will NEVER order from Josh PVK ever again!!!!

I have ordered from Josh at PVK many times with goodluck. I have had a few communication issues all though, sometimes he emails back quickly and others it takes a while. I would say overall he is a good seller. Just my opinion though.

Sounds scary, I´m on the other side of Atlantic. I´ll have to wait and see...

I would highly suggest keeping after him to uphold his end of the deal. That's what I did. I've read he most of the time "Finally" comes through on deals but I decided there is WAY better folks to deal with so Never again.

I have had good luck ordering from Josh at PVK. What are the customs laws in Estonia? Are balis allowed? I did have a situation where he sent me the wrong flashlight one time but I let him know and he made it right. I don't believe you are dealing with a thief here. Just someone who doesn't always communicate great and maybe isn't the biggest people person at times. Just my $0.02. Good luck and keep us posted on this.

I ordered from PVK a few months ago. They never answered emails or phone messages, but I did get the knife after about 3 weeks.

Seems you just need to be patient with them.

YMMV, but two complaints in 36 months doesn't make an "F" in my book. Both "resolved" BTW.

Agreed, communications aren't Josh's strong suit.

Do what you want but not many dealers willing to risk international shipping of Autos/Balis, and he does usually have good/updated inventory...

I seen that but this is where I read it on that same page.

"Based on BBB files, Pioneer Valley Knife and Tool has a BBB Rating of F on a scale from A+ to F."

As I've said I personally will NEVER deal with him again. Why risk it when there is such many better dealers out there?

Not many online dealers are willing to ship balis internationally like gzb said and very few even had Spyderflys left.
So not much choice.
Balisongs are legal if you can quote the weapon law
as they are more like a niche market and nearly all knife shops don`t bother stocking them because they wouldn`t sell well. Folders and fixed blades everywhere but no bali.
So most LEOs don`t even know what a balisong is (I called the police info and asked) and seeing one, they instinctively think it "looks illegal".
Which is actually fine because most balis are CCCs wielded by the covert and lethal "operators", each an undisputed master of the most feared martial art called MALL NINJUTSU!!!!! who tend to flip them in public and generally endanger everyone around them.
Responsibli acting person who knows the law can EDC them for his heart`s desire.

Mall ninjas are a threat not only to your physical and mental health but also to your human rights because it is their fault that the parliament wants a more strict Weapon Law.

A few days ago I also made a polite inquiry via email concerning the delivery but it remains to be answered.

Based on the experience one of my close personal friend's had with him and from the multiple threads I've read here in the GBU about him. I would steer clear from dealing with him.

I think you'll find as many goods as bads. I have had probably 40 knife deals with PVK and all went smoothly.

Maybe it's that 2X4 thing.............................

Today I received a cheap $18:00 Boker replica knock off from PVK, When I sent him $160. for a Boker German Auto 2 speed lock. These 2 knives don't even resemble each other. No reply to my emails. Very disappointed.
