Pioneer Valley Kinfe and Tool, aka, pvknife.com has been quite inconvenient and troublesome to patronize as of late. "Buyer Beware." Josh Burbank - the *pvknife.com* representative, also reportedly runs "bladeauction.com", where he is also a vendor. Service went form fantastic to almost confrontational. A truly psychedelic experience, one I am not in a hurry to repeat.

I've never had any problems, quite the contrary. I've always gotten good service and friendly responses from Josh.

Problem resolved. It took sone effort on my part, but the issue is a dead one.

S&W knives are junk.

Come to think of it ... still have not received my personal check back for 2 Whirlwinds (never received), promised a week + ago. I am still baffled as to what went wrong here. To have such a good reputation among patrons and then "sone-wall" a customer on a legitimate issue is absurd. perhaps too much business, too little personnel. Would like to give Josh the benefit of the doubt (unlike he gave me), but he's making it quite difficult. just my humble opinion.

I once ordered a knife from PV&T...and the box arrived but the knife did not. I called them and was told that they had sent the knife in good faith and it was not their fault it was not in the box when it arrived! I could not believe my ears! It was not until I got rather vociferous that they started to give. I had to threaten to slam them within the knife community to get them to send another knife. I finally got my knife...but what a horrible response from a customer oriented business!! NEVER AGAIN!

Finally ... at leat one other sole on the planet who can appreciate my frustration. These folks get a reputation, sell a few thousand knives and become beyond reproach. Thank you for the VALIDATIION!!! Also... FYI check did finally make it in. So all is good. However, will not go back. And finally "Cheap As Dirt Sporting Goods", if your looking for a knife, and are not into the custom/auto scene. Check these guys out, you will not believe your eyes. I kid you not, when they say "Dirt Cheap" they are not lying. Unfortunately, a visit here will result in lost revenue from the guys swearing your getting the best deal in town. Again, for the record...not for the custom or auto crowd. Enjoy, and your "welcome" in advance of "thanks for the tip".

Just received my second order from PVknife. Both arrived quickly and correctly, even though I emailed a change to one of the orders the next day. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

I just recently started to look at this forum (actually about 10 minutes ago). I too have had a bad experience with PVknife.com. I am a regular buyer from BladeAuction, and I have done business with this guy a few times. I've only had one bad experience with him, so don't think I'm trying to ruin him or anything, just speaking my mind.

I had won an auction for 3 butterfly knives. I received an e-mail from him about three days later with the "winner info" (where to send money, etc.). Well, I sent the money a few days later and waited to get my butterfly knives. I got them in about a week from when I sent the money... but I only got two of the three that I paid for! Instead of getting three of the ones I wanted, I got two, plus a cheaper model.

When I complained, and asked what the heck happened... he told me that they lost the last one, and just sent a "more expensive model." The model they sent me was not more expensive for a fact, and I felt cheated because he didn't bother to say anything before he sent them, and he did not offer a refund or exchange.

Also I was mad after this happened, it didn't stop me from doing business with Josh again. He is a reasonably nice person with good items as well as good prices (most of the time). But I felt I should share this with you guys since others have had problems with him before.

This is an old thread from two years ago. If he only has a screwup once every two years he's doing better than most.

But I do alot of Business with him. Last year, he was able to take an order and get the knife/knives in my hands in two days.

Since early 2002, Josh has been working on far too many projects and doing far too many things for a one man show. I had bid on a bunch of serial numbered BM722's, and made certain Josh knew I wanted all he had, I also bid on some Emersons. I won the bids, sent the check for a few hundred bucks in November and by January I got "concerned" and finally got in touch with Josh. This was the very first order he ever "screwed up" on me. The only thing upsetting was he no longer had my 722's so we had to find something suitable. I did NOT find any pleasure in this one transaction, because I ended up with a few knives I did notwant, but I made certain Josh knew. We talked quite awhile about how hard it was to run PVK&T, Knifezilla, microholics [now defunct] and BA, and the enormous amount of E-mail he got daily.

Josh may be having some business problems of late, but one thing is CERTAIN. Josh is one hell of an honest man and he does not intentionally set out to screw anyone. Generally when he flubs up on shipping, you find an extra goodie or two in the box.

I would not hesitate and do not hesitate to deal with Josh at PVK. They are as honest as they come. Now, I know that when I order from them that I need to follow up immediately to make certain Josh gets my orders out. Hopefully things will return to normal for him.........Ira:(

I've had nothing but good experiences with Josh also, but that's not the reason for my post. I want to make a correction to Ira's post about Microholics being defunct. That is not the case-Microholics (microholics.org) is alive and well. Someone else bought the old microholics domain name and so the old URL no longer works.

I fully understand the reason for your post. That is why BF has GB&U.

Be well my friend................Ira

Hey Ira, now that I know that you know were the microholics are, you don't have any excuse not to drop in and say hello some time! You haven't traded all of your MTs for Emersons have you? :) Take care.

Up until two weeks ago I would have been one of the guys defending Josh to the death on this forum. Now however I am not so sure about this guy anymore. Back on the 10th of April I paid for a Piranha California Special from Josh and I am still waiting for the knife to show up. In the past when I have ordered from Josh the knife usually arrived in about two days and was always accompanied by an email notice from UPS with a tracking number on the package. Even though Josh assured me that the knife would get to my house on the 19th I never did receive that email with the tracking number and have yet to receive the knife. It would appear on the surface that Josh has never acutally shipped out the knife to me and has simply been stalling me with emails full of empty promises. I shall keep the group informed of further developments.

Ok I'd like to recant my last post and put Josh back in the good guy column. I got my Piranha in the mail last night and a response from Josh. He had a lot on his plate last week and my order just slipped thru the cracks momentarily. Josh is a great guy to deal with and will eventually make things right on the rare occasions they go wrong. :D :D :D

clearing things up.....
Josh is a great guy he may be busy at times, but when he says he sends it it's sent.
It was ups that was holding my package for 5 days.
