I was going through my knife collection today, just handling and comparing knives, and I thought to myself QSP are actually really good. Lots of people claim the RAT 1 is the best budget knife. I think the QSP Copperhead blows it out of the water.
For a budget knife, you are getting G10 handles, Bearings, well heat treated 14C28N steel, drop shut action, zero bladeplay and it looks better to boot. The grind is actually amazing as well, if you hold the knife up to the light it reflects all colours of the spectrum back at you.
QSP knives are under rated in the "best budget knives" tier lists.
I hold the RAT 1 and the QSP Copperhead in my hands right now and the QSP is just the superior knife, not that the RAT 1 is bad it's also great, but from a knife enthusiasts standpoint the QSP is just better, it has better action than most knives in the 200+ catagory.
I think the QSP Copperhead is not on many peoples radars for best budget knives.
In my opinion the best 2 budget knives are the QSP Copperhead, and the Real Steel E775 Griffin.
Does anybody else own any QSP knives? What are your opinions on them, I think they are under rated.

I've previously owned two QSP knives, and both punched well above their price point in terms of fit and finish.

They're underrated for sure, but they've also started putting out more models -- including some that seem more tuned to today's market/interests than some of their earlier offerings. I don't think they'll stay underrated.

I will be watching their next models they release, I'm very impressed with the Copperhead, it's honestly better than a lot of my knives in the 100+ range. The action is ghostly smooth, cuts very well too.

Um, isn't that knife nearly double the price of a RAT 1?

And better action than most 200+ knives? Like dollars? I'll disagree.

QSP makes knives that are nice but unremarkable amongst the flood of new Chinese brands. I’ve yet to see one of their designs that seemed different or innovative.

They are not “kings” of anything, just another face in the crowded market of value imports.

Not in the UK, they are roughly the same price, both around £50. It has better action than lots of knives in the 200 range, better action than the Hogue EX-01, better action than the PM2, better action than the Fox FX-121. Better action than the Yojimbo 2, just to name a few on my table right now.

To everyone saying they would choose the RAT 1 over the copperhead, have you all handled and used the QSP Copperhead? and compared it to the RAT 1 in hand?

I mean, if this copperhead knife is $56, then even with all those features it is one of many in the sea of Chinese made budget bearing knives...

Yeah just like there's a Sea of US made frame locks, some are better than others, and this QSP Copperhead is better than a lot of knives.

I don't think such a basic tool as a knife needs to be innovative, it just needs to function well and have good build quality. Innovation and reinventing the wheel isn't always a good idea either. Lots of fantasy knives are innovative, I wouldn't buy one though, would much rather have a plain drop point.

The QSP copperhead is actually quite a remarkable knife for only £50.
