Quality Traditional Production Bowies

The only two large production Bowies I own are these two, both of which are a steal for the money they cost:

Hen & Rooster #5033RH Ram's Horn & 440C (Spain) 14-7/8" OAL, and Blackjack Classic Blades #1-7 Micarta & A2 (USA) 12-1/4" OAL.

For a big, heavy traditional Bowie I don't think you can beat the H&R. Good materials and workmanship, great looks and heft, double guard and lanyard hole, plus a very nice leather sheath for under $100 shipped.

Hey guys. Having a strong Texas heritage, I can't help but love the classic bowie. It's a great all-around fixed blade. For a while no I've been trying to find a good quality production version, but I haven't been able to find one that "spoke" to me, as it were. What are your favorites in this category? Thanks!

Try the COLD STEEL Bowies, the LAREDO in SK-5, THE NATCHEZ in SK-5 is drop-dead gorgeous, classic, and did I say beautiful? The Trailmaster is great too, it is more modern, though. The Natchez and Laredo have carbon blades, and laminated wood handles, (like the old Western W-49) it looks just like a reddish Cocobolo or Rosewood, it's actually something like Birch, sliced into thin sheets, dyed, impregnated with some kind of resin-phenolic probably, and compressed under intense pressure and heat. Stronger than wood alone, waterproof, etc. I have the W-49, laredo, Natchez, and Trailmaster, so I can tell you, they are good knives.Wonder why Cold Steel is so overlooked??

Wonder why Cold Steel is so overlooked??

That should be a requisite search term, for anyone that asks.

Who, Why, What, How, ...........Cold Steel.

No need to ask in this thread, there are already quite a few waiting in the database to be read.
