So I traded for a Quartermaster Mr Roper Eviction because I thought the design could be cool. I got it and immediately noticed I could tweak it like I do all folders, part of my standard takedown and cleaning. I take it apart and I find this.



MRBS (ceramic even!), a ceramic detent ball, and milled pockets in the titanium to cut weight! Milled pockets in the blade for the bearings, and steel inserts on the handles for the bearings. Seriously, these are features knives at $300 don't have. That is crazy.

Yes I know that Quartermaster has a crap reputation. I have said in the past that they make a good product, and this really is next level. I love this knife.

Update: New information has come to light, and I now realize how skeezy Quartermaster is. I will not buy another knife in the future, and will not be selling or trading this one because I don't want to stick anybody else with it. I made the mistake.

Dealt with them once, and they replaced my pocket clip and even changed the blade for a plain edge one on my Murdock. Turnaround was about a little over a week from shipping to getting my knife. Definitely the best service I have gotten from any company.
 
I don't care if they were CRK quality with Mora prices. I'll never buy one.

If you are happy with your knife, then I'm happy for you. I don't want to get into the history of knife makers and their companies but there are some people/companies I'd rather not support. Jared West/Mantis/QM is one of them.
 
I wouldn't buy a Quartermaster with Jared West's credit card. I'm glad you have a knife you enjoy, but they remain a company I would love to see go down in flames.
 
i honestly thought this was a joke thread, MRBS on a QTRM5TR is just a turd with twice the bearings. Now, if they finally admit to and apologize for stealing IP and lying about manufacturing...or better yet simply post a few legitimate pics of their "Top Secret Texas manufacturing facility" and completely break with any association with Jared West maybe....just maybe they can begin to polish the turd they laid in the lap of the knife community. Oh, and when that day comes lets bust out the skates cuz hell will have surely frozen over:-)

I've only dealt with them once, and that was several (4 maybe?) years ago. I accidentally grabbed the wrong size Torx while disassembling the knife and stripped the head on one of the pivot screws. I emailed and told them what happened and that I wanted to buy a new screw. They asked me which finish it was and then sent me out a new screw free of charge in less than a week. None of the knives I've bought since then have had any issues, so I have no recent experience.
 
You mean the Chinese company that produces their USA made knives stepped it up. Sorry but this company will never be accepted here. If they were honest from the get go there would be no issue.
