Havent bought a new knife in a while. Carried my boker CF kwaiken today and remembered how much I like the sleek design. Im a stickler for weight and saw the Quartermaster kwaikens are darn light especially the XL for having a 4" blade.

I was wondering how the quality control and flipping action was on these. My boker was decent out of the box and doesnt flip as well compared to a ZT but, its much better than any spyderco or hinderer flipper I have tried.

Wanted to hear peoples thoughts to see if its worth picking them up and any short comings the knife may have I am un aware of.

Or if you guys are aware of something kwaiken style thats coming out soon I may be better off grabbing I would love to know.

I really like my QSE12 CF. Not one complaint.
Check out the Shy 4, by Stedemon. This folder design sports a traditional Japanese blade and the quality is excellent. You will love the simple nuetral handle too.

OH wow that Shy 4 look sweet! if it was a flipper it would be bought right now.

So no issues with the action on the QSE12? heard mixed stuff about it.

The company is a sham, read up on them. Lots of info here on bladeforums.

I have a qse12cf. Solid build, one of the best out of the box. No adjustments needed. Flips like a dream and it looks so nice!
There are a lot of haters on quartermaster but I would buy again from them without a second thought.

Been carrying this as my edc for a few months now, the only other knife in this size to push it out of my pocket on occasion is a southern grind spider monkey ( the qwaiken even edges out this all USA made knife in build quality imo).

Hello, Jared. How's it shaking?

The Quartermaster Kwaiken is an attractive knife, but it is quite pricey and the company is about as skeezy as it gets. Makes me very mad because I like their designs.

you won't be able to sell it and its made in China with a fake "made in Texas" or "made in usa" on it... and there is no actual business license publicly listed in the USA.

the designs were stolen, and the owner is a big lier scammer.

I owned both the smaller and larger Qwaikens. The smaller one had a better action, but the pocket clip was tough to get in and out of pants. Really good besides that.

The larger Qwaiken, had an easier to use pocket clip. But two issues - The detent was too weak for the weight of the blade. It fell out of the handle a bit too easily. And, out of the box, there was damage to the tip. I sharpened it out, but I am sure you may have had the feeling - it was never "perfect" again.

I ended up selling both. The larger because the flaws I did not want to live with, and the smaller, because I was just liquidating knives at the time.

I see you managed to make it past the biometric scanner....

Does it come in good ole American 440c? Cause I really like 440C, not too many on knifecenter.

What about full ball-bearings? Not easy to find at the lower end cost, usually found in mid tech, custom, wow. Say, ever see any translucent polyurethane thermoplastic wing-like scales? I have this idea, hear me out.

Well, don't just tell us about that flipping, show us.

Friends don't let friends buy G4rBagEM4S+3r knives.

Hello, Jared. How's it shaking?

If BrotherJared is indeed Jared, then it's interesting that he'd essentially admit that his knives AREN'T made in America.

Quite an interesting turn of phrase, wouldn't you say? If BOTH knives were all USA made, it'd be a nonfactor to bring it up. But if one of them wasn't made in America*...

Things that just make you go hrrrmmmmm.

*We all know full well that the Southern Grind knives are made here.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. I am not Jared nor do I have any affiliation with quartermaster other than being a happy and satisfied customer.

Since nobody can verify that quartermaster is indeed USA made or not, I did not say it was USA made. As in contrast, southern grind is all USA made and can be verified.

I don't like false advertising myself but the product speaks for itself as in the case of my qwaiken.
