Quartermasters new video

Literally nothing there showed knives being made. Someone in front of a clean bench, things being put in drawers, close ups with machinery behind the person, and knives being flipped open.

Absolutely nothing there showed the construction of their knives. If they have the facility...why not show a CNC running specific parts, someone grinding blades, fitting lockbars, etc? This appears to have been shot in someone's machine shop.

"Making gun parts for friends" isn't the most solid of backgrounds for expert machining.

Notice they never say, "we're here at the Quartermaster factory/shop/whatever." Also, calling the video "unrehearsed" in the description on the site feels odd.

I don't know what to think about this brand, and I'm pondering for quite a while.

I think it's a brand that would've been fine if they'd just been honest, but now they've dug themselves into a hole.

American design and perhaps components assembled in China? Fine. American offices and Chinese production? Still, fine. Happens all the time. If the product's good, it'll sell.

They, however have laid such a thick layer of patriotic propaganda over their product that they can't get out from under it. So now they have to rely on sleeze-bag sales tactics to perpetuate their lie and keep people interested.

I really wish they'd said "look what we had made in China. Isn't it awesome?"

I'd really like to check out a Mr. Roper and a Marty McFly, but just won't knowingly give my money to a company that's this sketchy with their marketing.

Trust me. You dont have to convince me. I think it was way too ambiguous and seemed like paid actors.

It could very well be the shop where the gun parts were made. The "friends" could be Jim and Mike down the street, but they could also be Bond Arms or one of the billion companies making crap for AR-15s.

Every other machine shop down here seems to make something AR related. "We make billet racing wheels... oh, and compensators for ARs."

Wow I didn't know all of that. Thanks for the infos.
I was trying to make up my mind between a Quartermaster or a Guardian Tactical (both are exotic to me) , guess I've figured out where my hard earned cash won't go for sure :)

Thanks T.L.E. !

Guardian Tactical makes awesome knives. I've had 3 and have been very impressed with all of them. Really no contest between them and QTRMSTDSDFOSF....

None of that is concrete of course. They've never answered any questions about the legitimacy of their "Made in USA" claims that I've seen.

I do know however that they've never provided any proof of their claims, the address for the company is a home, not a commercial property and there have been documented shipments from China to that address.

Again, no guarantee that those shipments were Quartermaster products, but their silence about it is dubious at best.

I don't have any problem with Chinese made knives. I do have problems with being lied to though.

How can they make this statement if what I have read from so many people is true? I have had one quartermaster knife and ended up selling it. Just was not my cup of tea. This was before everything I have read. Now I refuse to buy anything from them or recommend them to anyone. but if i find out they are what they say I am gonna feel pretty foolish.

That's what's so strange and off-putting. If they were telling the truth why wouldn't they show the factory, the knives being made and have a legitimate address?

So I am still pretty new to the knife world and have only heard about the Quartermaster thing about a couple months ago.
What everyone has a issue with is they are saying they are made in the U.S.A but there parts come from China and they are assembled in the U.S.A?

Yeah, there was one part towards the end, can't remember which exactly, where the guy REALLY sounded like he was reading a line, I picked up on that too.

No reason to believe they are even assembled in the USA given that their "factory" is a residence in a residential zone with no business permit and they are importing knives in the name of the actual entity, Copiousity LLC, owner of the Quartermaster/QTRM5TR brands.

Yeah I've seen a couple of staged videos by Jared West, he always looks like he hasn't showered for a month ! Still no physical address for an aledged knife factory yet shady retailers continue to hawk his wares. PATHETIC !!!
