  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Queen knives what have you got, whats your thoughts.

There is an article about that knife and how it came about. That knife order saved Queen from bankruptcy in 1981. It's a neat story.
How cool! Thanks for sharing. Happy to know the history; I'm very glad I have this one in the collection. Picked it up here on the exchange just because I loved the big sides of pretty stag. The neato NKCA shield is an added bonus.

Also cool Queen donated the stamping dies for that pattern to the NKCA, so that pattern was never made again at Queen. Once the NKCA closed, they auctioned off or donated all inventory/property. I wonder where those dies ended up. In someones collection somewhere I suppose.

Tall, Dark and Handsome!!! At 4 1/2", this knife is an imposing figure, with perfect lockup and no play!!!
A representative of the golden age of Winterbottom, it's a striking knife!!!Tall Dark 1.jpgTall Dark 2.jpgTall Dark 4.jpg
A tribute to Brian's good taste, from the Sorenson estate!!! R.I.P!!!

And another one: on top, in Buffalo Horn and PH-D2 from 2002 (when S&M changed from ATS34 (bottom one) to Peter's heat-treated D2); SAK for scale:

I purchased a number of Queens (Queen, Robeson, Schatt), between 10 to 20 years ago. Quality was a bit hit or miss, kind of like Case. But the allure of ATS-34 and D2 steel was too wonderful to ignore. Here are a couple of my better D2 Queens. While the tool decisions on the #99 scout were a little unusual, everything about the #3 was crazy good. Excellent pattern, with near perfect fit and finish. I'm talking GEC level fit and finish.
