OK, so I saw Queen's lineup of zebrawood slipjoints some time ago and frankly I wasn't too impressed by how they looked. I didn't care much for the wood. Well, I love Queen's D2 blades and their F&F is usually pretty good, so what the heck, I sprung for one anyway.

Wow, was I wrong. The zebrawood looks much better in real life. Here's a picture, in case any of you have passed on these knives for the same reason. Kudos to KSF, since they hand picked this one at my request (that probably has something to do with it too).

I too am eyeing them. Especially that small stockman. I like the shield on the small one as well. How is the action on that one? Smooth? F/F?

I'm looking for a cousin, (or backup) for this one.Same knife only a bit sharper clip.

I was wondering too what KSF was.

Nice! I've been eyeing them also but I'm not a big fan of wood handles to begin with. You're picture makes a big difference and I appreciate you posting it.

Heck, I'd like to see more pics if you feel like posting some.

They do a small lockback in this wood, which I think is an entirely new pattern for queen.

As Coyote711 mentioned, it's KnivesShipFree.com. I had to ask the same question a month ago in this forum. Congratulations, you're now an official member of the KSF secret club. We'll show you the secret handshake and treehouse later.:D

The action is smooth and the F&F is very good. There is a very small gap where the sheild was inset, but other than that, everything is very good. The wood is highly polished and looks very nice.

Glad the pic helped. My pictures are pretty lousy, but I'll see what I can do.

Much of the ebony that comes in to the country is delivered wet. The wood has to dry a long time before it can be used, and if not properly dried - it can split.
It is a good wood, but getting hard to find a stable form.
I have some very old Gerbers with ebony and they have been fine. Not everyone has this experience.

Yes, that is good-looking Ebony:thumbup:

Been thinking about one of those QCCC Teardrops in Greenbone, the serial No.on the bolster is a bit oversized it seems,or?

Back to the OP's Zebra Wood: Queen Cutlery has changed their shield design for this handle option, I think I've heard that the shield is pinned and not glued.

I don't have any wood scaled traditional patterned slippies, but it definitely is growing on me. Nice knives guys:thumbup:
