Queen stockman

Sorry about the awful scan, but Queen has done some nice ebony. These actually are as black as... well... ebony.

Oh my lawdy...dont you dare apologise for showing us THOSE knives!!...I think they look great!!

toungeriver your queen citys are 2 of the best knives i've seen this weekend. thanks for the pics , nothing beats the oldies. dennis

Dennis, you can still get those. At least the top one, the teardrop jack. I'm not sure if they are Cozy Glens.

Is the zebra wood worth the mark up over the birdseye maple? Seems to me that on such a small scale the details of the wood would be lost.

The Queen zebrawood is a definite upgrade from the grey birdseye maple. The chatoyance of the zebrawood looks even better in person than it does in pictures. Very nice material.

What I have done is clean the Maple with Acetone
Then rub beeswax into the wood
It darkens it to brown and retains the very strong grain structure
An improvement

Interesting:thumbup:I might have to try that as I'm not struck on the grey/pink hue of BEM on my Teardrop

All Queens went up this year. They said it was because of the difference in the heat treat bill.

I was shocked at the price when I saw them. They are nice. I haven't actually seen a bad Zebra Wood one. :)

Does the tip of the sheep-foot blade rest within the handle or does it protrude ever slightly? Just wondering. Thank you.

I'd like to see the Whittler or Small Serpentine Jack model in ebony from Queen. I've got an older H&R Whittler in ebony with nickel silver bolsters that I really like, so let's get one made here..mmmmk? Not as quite big as the new forum knife if you please.

As Coyote711 mentioned, it's KnivesShipFree.com. I had to ask the same question a month ago in this forum. Congratulations, you're now an official member of the KSF secret club. We'll show you the secret handshake and treehouse later.:D

The action is smooth and the F&F is very good. There is a very small gap where the sheild was inset, but other than that, everything is very good. The wood is highly polished and looks very nice.

Glad the pic helped. My pictures are pretty lousy, but I'll see what I can do.

How much of a gap around an inset shield would you say is acceptable? I'm curious because I've noticed a few knives from various brands that have about a 1/16" maybe less gap around part of the shield. These were small run knives touted as "collectible", so when I saw it, it gave me pause.
