Question about a new platen

On the other hand you get less in a given piece of stock if you leave the back flat...

That's if they were taken from a huge block?

My first thought was that the original sized plates were smaller....but I have no idea, just guessing

Me too... I've got no idea how the stock comes either. Just assuming they've got a big block, or at least thicker stock.

I hope he shows them.;I'd Drool if it's a 24" block of tungsten goodness...haha

I have a flat version of his.

This one Really has me interested, even though I don't do hollow grinds ....I'm thinking maybe the biggest, so it's almost flat....idk?

-What radius does everybody want???

On the larger radius I’d think it would be minimal. He helped me with an off sized special order piece. That’s why I offered to test a prototype and absorb cost if it made sense compared to buying a radius platen and radius base to mount it on.

They are indeed made out of a thick square block. Then it gets cut out with edm wire.
They made a small setup for making them like this.
I wanted them this way so people can upgrade the platen they already have.

Ive sent you an email back!
I will only to the ones with curved back. I take orders for 4 different radius sizes. 14” 24” 29” and 36”.

For the 14 and 29” i can make a steel radius mount for a reduced price. Also since now with the carbide on it the steel can be finished minimal.
