Thinsulate was tried in sleeping bags years ago and flunked -- primarily due to not surviving compression -- by the body or in a sack.

An honest manufacturer warns against longterm compression.
Then again, they are in the business of selling sleeping bags. Turns out "a few months" isI have yet to find any insulation material I'd feel comfortable leaving compressed for very long, at least for the type used in sleeping bags. I ruined a Wiggy's bag (synthetic) by doing just that several years ago even though they claimed it wouldn't hurt it....and that was after leaving it compressed for just a few months.
