i put repairs in quotation because its not really a repair question. say I bought a two bladed knife. is there any chance theyd take one out for me if i request. say for instance this 2 bladed gec 15 in gabon ebony that im looking at... will delete if in wrong place. thanks!

GEC doesn't do custom mods.
But there are any number of folks on BF who have the skill to do that.

Shortly after I made this post, some one came forward with a knife to sell to me. so i guess im good for now. thanks for the tip!

Hahaha did Mr. Howard say that :D, priceless moment.

id love to buy this clip point huckleberry knife and ask them if they can just lop off a little bit of wood on both sides and put steel end caps on for me. i wonder how much thatd cost

There's a bit more involvement than just lopping off some wood and adding end caps. I know it's a personal preference thing, but in my opinion, barehead knives are very nice and aesthetically pleasing.

They don't have a Custom Shop.

I think eventually ill have to give that a try. i worry about the barehead getting damaged

I have a couple of 80+ year old barehead knives that never suffered any damage. None of my modern bareheads have ever been damaged. So I think you can put that thought out of your head. ;)

That's because you've got dem magic hands Bob~ :D

On a side note to mrknife
If you ever were to need to send in your knife for repair, they get you sorted out every single time. I've sent in..5 knives now in the past 6 months of collecting and they get sent back to me every time back perfectly. Christine is awesome and they stand by everything if you've an actual repair that needs to be done.

its just it seems better with endcaps, idk, i need to win this auction first... maybe

Tim brings me to another point. Most current manufacturers give a lifetime warranty. So if something were to happen, they're going to repair the knife. So it's a non issue.
But hey, you like end caps and that's your perogative. I just wouldn't place so much importance on it if it were me.

Or just wait until you find one with the combination of features you want before buying.

I see the clip point 15 as a barehead. I just went thru all of the modified productions thread and feel that there are people who can remove one of the blades confidently. I tried knife modifications on cheap pakistani trappers but they always break, actually got a bag of knife parts next to my desk because of this,

Exactly. So if one uses the knife under normal circumstances, there's nothing to worry about. I never said I condoned using a GEC as a hammer or anything it wasn't designed for.
