Hi all,

I sent a USPS International money order to a BF member in Quebec and he told me that the Canadian postal service has refused to cash it. I called the Canadian PS prior to sending the MO and I was told that an International MO from the USPS would be received without problem.

Has anyone had a similar problem cashing an International MO?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have received several MOs from USPS, and never had a problem, I deposited them in my bank, and so long as they are the International type I do not see what the problem is. The only thing I can see is that Canada Post may not cash money orders unless it is one of their own. It should be cash able elsewhere though.

Only other thing I can think of is that the person trying to cash it didn't have the right ID, or something else CP needed.

I've deposited several in my bank, no issues.

As long as you sent an International one it should be fine.

I sold a SnG to a US member and he sent a Domestic US MO to me - at first I could not cash it either, then I went to a Currency Exchange booth at a mall and they cashed it for me. Green is domestic US, pink is international.

Hope this helps...

Thanks guys! I think the forum member I sent the USPS International MO to just had the misfortune to run into a cranky or misinformed postal worked (maybe cranky AND misinformed). :)

I received a Canadian money order and my bank freaked out. They were going to charge me x amount of fees and hold the money for x amount of time.I told them to just give it back(among other comments) and took it to my local usps station and they cashed it after a quick confirmation phone call.
