Question For pin peen guys -

Pinning delicate scales is easy.
You guys gotta get out of "forging mode" before you try it, though.

Do you guys realize this thread is over 5 years old? Some of the posters arent even here anymore. I thought it looked familiar. :D
 
PIns have been around a long time, seems they stiil pin(rivit) airplanes together.
Make sure everything is clean and take the burr off the outer edge of the pin after having it the right length. Tapered reamer or countersink and a couple of good
straight on whacks to set it, this being important on a slippie when not only can't
the pin show but a blade has to rotate on it and not tighten up the knife-now or in the
future. After the initial set work around the edge with a small polished head ball peen
hammer and practice, what could be simpler?

At the top-right there is "Links and Resources". At the top-right of that there is "Tutorials". Somewhere in there is a description of two different reamers being used to taper pin holes... as well as a lot of other stuff.
