Question for the "folksy" guys in here.

I shot my deer with the t\c hawken 54 caliber with spit patch and roundball.
All my other hunting needs I use my 25 year old Mossberg 500 20 gauge.
The Puma fixed blade is only 15 years old and the trapper was made in the 80's.
I have tried "newer and better" but have always went back to the old tried and true.
God Bless
Tracy

Nice 20 gauge there, a useful gun in my view.

I don't hunt as such, but a gun like that is useful for vermin control/scaring stuff off:D

Modern materials like stainless on guns have their place and value though. Ditto stainless/carbon on knives in Traditional style:thumbup:

My favorite scattergun is a Remington 3200 with walnut and blued steel.

My favorite rifle is my US Rifle, M1, .30 caliber (actually chambered .308 now) with walnut and parkerized steel.

The pistol I wear daily is a Colt Commander with walnut stocks and blued steel.

The knife I carry daily is a Case 6375 large stockman in bone and CV steel.

The razor I use daily is a Revisor/Solingen straight.

My favorite pen is a Parker Vacumatic fountain pen.

And, I wear a mechanical watch most days.

I think, as you've found, that many who are drawn to traditional knives are also drawn to other "traditional" things that may be considered anachronisms by others.

I am not a hunter, but I am a shooter, I like wood stocks and blue(ish) steel. I shoot a 74 sharps (45 X2.4, Black Powder), Trapdoor (45X2.1, Black Powder) and a couple of flint locks most of the time for rifles. My shot guns are blued with walnut stocks and I love wheel guns. Do I have some of the other evil plastic guns, sure, just as I have a few of the TAC knives, but they don't see as much use.

I realize I've neglected to tell you all how much I've enjoyed this thread thus far and its quite refreshing to see that there are still a good bevy of folks out here that still use Traditional knives and likewise equipment for the sportsmen activities we all have such a passion for and participate in. Its nice to know I am in good company in this fine forum.

I wanted to add a pic of the wheel gun I typically tote during Rifle season.. I have several Revolvers that I utilize during gun season, but this 1972 Colt Python .357 is my fave..
