Agree 100 %,new knife is unused, unsharpened, uncarried.Being dishonest is wrong and unforgiven.Treat everyone as you would like to be treated. There is only one truth.

Not only wrong but stupid. In the first place, based on my experience with the (excellent) spa refinish process on two knives, a close inspection WILL show that the knife is not NIB. In the second place, odds are decent that CRK could 'out' the seller if the buyer sends the knife in to CRK. Dumb and dishonest. :thumbdn:

I agree with you as always JNewell.. but the buyer will have no reason to send the knife in.. it already has been.. and looks brand new!!

Well said my friend!! Honesty of course is the best policy!!:D

Wrong on so many levels. A big part of this goes back to the Golden Rule. I can't imagine even thinking of selling a spa knife as nib, let alone doing it.

Being honest about all knife sales on BF is Very important IMO.

As always Craig.. you are wise beyond your years!! Thankfully the knife is not for sale here on our Forum..
All the best, Dave

For whatever help it may be, I've never had a refurbed CRK myself, but I remember a post here from awhile back from someone who has that stated s/he could tell a refurb because the edges of the scales are more rounded after getting blasted again, and the edges/walls of the CRK stamp are more rounded as well (I assume it's stamped after the handles are first blasted, so after a second time it is visably different).

I believe you are correct kreole.. just like re-painting a car.. you can tell if you look close enough.. but it's kind of a mute point now.. the knife just sold for $1475.00 on epay..

Thanks to all my friends and fellow CRK addicts for contributing to another long and boring thread!! I think if nothing else we can all agree that honesty and full disclosure is the best policy!! And that most of us here always follow those rules.
All the best, Dave
