Question

It is worse than that.

I might send twenty emails to some one showing an interest in my for sale post,,with 5 to ten pictures.

Make 1 to 6 phone calls with them,,,

Then talk them out of buying "My" for sale knife and into some one else's

What I want is to insure a good fit between the buyer and the knife.

Knife Zen is not about get the money now, or making Profit(though both those things are nice)

Spread knife/gun/hunting culture, or it may be gone in your lifetime.

Well, i can't use the Paypal payment so my answer might be different from what you epxect - but "i'll takeit" means he buyer has agreed to *my* terms of payment and shippng. That usualy means hat theyll send the payment via some tracable method (say mail with CoD) so they can supply tracking number when i ask for it. If they don't, i'd enquire as to what's stopping them from sending me that number. By that time it's pretty obvious whether they are lying about sending the payment or not.

Think of it this way. Most here are not in business.A store can hold on to the product and if it sells it sells,if it doesn't it doesn't.
If most here are like me they put up something for sell from their private collection in order to purchase something else and often that something else is first come first serve.IMO that is why it is a must for buyer and seller to work out the deal ASAP.
To me all this tradeing, buying and selling is fun but one of the main things that makes it unfun(if that is a word) is to have someone email you about it or say I will take it and then leave you hanging, you don't really know if you should mark it sold or keep it for sell.
I hope I did not make someone mad on another forum the other day but I put up something for sell and someone emailed me about it to ask questions.I recieved and replied to 2 of his emails, before he said I will take it someone else emailed me and said"I will take it,how do you want payment"
The next email I sent was to the first guy saying that it was sold.

Good Topic. I think in terms of minutes. Most deals happen in minutes, rarely hours and certainly not days.
I figure if you're on the Internet buying, selling or trading you understand that one of the attractions is the speed and accessibility of items that not so long ago were nearly impossible to get without traveling and/or took weeks to get.
One of my pet peeves is when people act half-assed about deals or uncconcerned about promptly taking care of business. I've said it before,,if you don't have time to promptly, courteously and professionally handle a deal, especially on a specialized forum, you're probably in over your head.

:)
