Questions: KME vs TSProf K02, KME&K02 vs Recurve Blades

I don't know why you are saying KME has more options because that is simply not true,I also have 2 KME's and a K02 and I find it harder to get the stones I want for the KME when compared to the K02.

Also the jaws on the KME are a complete pain with the rubber alway's coming off of the jaws,I don't have a hate for KME I'm just tired of using a system that has 4 inch stones rather then 6 inch witch takes longer to sharpen because of that on some steels and the only thing that the KME has is a Convex guide rod witch the K02 does not have yet.Although it can slower to get stuff for the K02 it is worth the wait I just find it a better system to use.

Someone also mentioned DLT was selling and it's their own fault they are still not selling them,DLT had the unit price listed cheaper then what you can buy them for out of Russia,the problem is like this if there is $125.00 profit to be made off of each K02 and DLT was willing to sell at a lesser price then TechStudio the makers of the K02 just to be the cheapest aellers for them,the problem is in retail there is usually a set lowest price that something is to be sold at and that so a company like DLT that has a lot of buying power and can afford not to make as much profit off each unit sold where as a smaller retailer of the same item may not be to take the same hit.

I feel the same as you. I enjoy the versitility of the k02.

Just so you know, you can now get a convex attachment for the K-02. I just ordered the kit last week from the TSProf website. They call it a len kit for some reason. I dont mind the wait for the items to get here as they are super well made and will last forever. It does help that STATES is stocking some accessories and kit here in the USA.
I am excited to be getting the convex edge attachment kit to play around with and learn. Hope this helps

You want to see something really stupid I swear TechStudio is never going to get thing's figured out from a backwards compatibility stand point they just seem to always be far to happy to change the design of the K02 and never give a moments thought to backwards compatibility.

Here is a picture of a scissor attachment that I just got with a new style fixing unit that does not fit on my K02 and I got it from George at STATESLLC and I was just talking to him and they are shipped in bag's and he did not notice the change and he does not have the right fixing unit's to send me,this is not George's fault it's TechStudio's fault that's for sure.

The guy's at TechStudio seem to be great at machining thing's and being very precise but really seem to suck at thinking thing's threw before they do anything,if you look on youtube and pictures from different website's on the K02 there is always something different about each K02 from the other it seems,I think TechStudio's biggest problem is they see a spot where they can improve something on one on their sharpener's and then they just go ahead and redesign a new part and do not say anything to anyone about then your always the one left holding waiting to get new part's.

Just look at what they did when they made the new Mast for the K03 you could purchase a Mast for the K03 from their website and they even made it sound like you could put the new Mast on the K02 but it would not fit but if you talked to Paul from TechStudio he knew it would not fit then why sell the stupid thing if it's only going to fit the K03 because the K03's already come with them installed.

All I can say is that TechStudio is going to put themselve's out of business if they don't start thinking thing's threw more,for example why not find the problem' you want to fix then once a year fix them if they are not an emergency or a major design flaw that needs to fixed,the other problem is they have a dealer in the USA and George is great can't ask for anyone better at putting the customer first and even George has told me a few times already they never tell him anything about when change's are being,plus for crying out loud why would a company not look after the dealer first and make sure he has lot's of spare part's.

TechStudio if you read this stop and think for a minute when I have spent $1000.00 on a sharpening system and I can never buy replacement part's because you will not stop making change's to the models you sell and I'm always waiting months to get everything do you really think I'm going to purchase a newer model in future most likely not and most likely most other people will not they will buy a Hapstone or Wicked Edge.

I agree. In 1 year, they have had 3 different types of fixing units... the 2 you show, plus a type that uses 2 steel flanged pins. The springs are different too. I love my K-02, but these changes are a pain for the users. You have to be very careful when ordering accessories. Yes, George has been great to deal with, but he can not sell what he does not have. He has a very hard time getting what he orders from them. Hopefully they will get the production problems smoothed out soon.
 
From what George said today when I told him about getting the wrong part's he said he got an email about problems with production,it's funny that they would only send George an email about problems with production but not ever tell him about anything new that's coming.

Not trying to sound negative about TechStudio but this really has to stop at some point there is no way a company as small as theirs can produce all of these different part's and it's like I have been finding they really need to understand they only need to fix what needs to be fixed right away and think about backwards compatibility.
 
Hytekrednek I think you said something before about ordering the Lens Kit for doing convexed edge's did you ever get yours yet or get any kind of idea as to when it would ship out.

I placed an order for the lens kit and the new milled clamp set online. All I was told is that they would email me a tracking number when they shipped it. I figured on it taking a while to get here, I just hope it wont be to long of a wait. The website worked for me about 3 or 4 days ago. I dont know why the site is down, maybe updating or rebuilding the website. Or perhaps server problems.
 
Hopefully that's all it is as much as they frustrate me I really want to see them keep going and hopefully get the problems I mentioned worked out.

Would you let me know when you get the Lens kit and other stuff you ordered and by that I mean a tracking number,I was told when I asked about my stuff that I just ordered it was all in stock but then told it will ship in 2 weeks,right after I paid for the stuff I got an email saying thank you for payment and that my order had gone into production.That kind of got me upset and it's not so much the waiting as it is the just be upfront and honest rather then telling someone what they want to hear because you figure that's the only way they will place an order.

I was told the same thing about my order went to production or something like that. I did not ask about items being in stock as I expected to have to wait to get anything from russia anyway. I can get by without the items I ordered, so no big rush as long as the wait is not extreme. Paul told me he would let me know when my order shipped and he would give me the tracking. That is the last I have heard from them, that was 1/31/2018.
I will let you know if I get anymore info. I would like to get a couple of the Lansky adapters too in the future. I wish I knew about them when I placed my order. Maybe George can get them for me?
 
I'm sure if you asked Paul about them he would ad them to your order,if you talk to Paul about adding those items ask him how long he thinks it's going to take to ship your stuff out,I'm just wanting to get an idea and also see how honest he's being with us.

I would but I dont have a facebook account. Very rarely if there is something i want to view, I just use my wife's account.

I just got an email from Sergey Techman last night about 5:28am my time telling me that my stuff has been boxed up and I should be getting a tracking number soon,I wanted to add a set of the Conical Clamps to my order and the reinforced springs as well and was told this,I don't know if believe them or not because of problems I read on this forum before,I will let you know when I get a tracking number.
I'm wondering if they rushed my stuff threw because they know they screwed by sending out only the 20mm fixing units and not letting anyone know about the change.
 
Same here. I was told the same, and it is to late to add to my order. I just hope the packages dont get lost like some peoples' have.
 
I wouldn't worry to much about the packages getting lost I have had 4 shipments from Gritomatic and a shipment from sharpeningstones.ru and I have had all of them arrive so I don't think that's to big of a worry,I'd be more worried if it was being sent out regular for sure.
