Questions on carry methods

I carry my full size trapper in a Moore Maker sheath on my belt. Not an option for many, but it works for me. When I can't wear it on my belt, in my left front pocket it goes. I just got used to carrying it.

Actually the Med Trapper (yellow cv) I just got will work well in the pocket, testing it out today. BTW this knife does not have a patina yet but main blade has a spot on it, it's deeper than surface rust. I am going to force the patina, can't stand the bright and shiny on cv. The spot shouldn't hurt the knife right? It's the only blemish on it and it appears to be a very small pit.

This is why I like the medium Trapper so much. Not too hot, not too cold, just right.

I carry a Zippo in my right front pocket along with a slippie, including a larger stockman, and that seems to help keep them in the vertical position. However, this does rub up against the knife, and I understand how that may not be desirable.

Here's something I've been playing with since I first read this post...

I kept the btm. of it a little squared off so if one wanted to, just stick the whole thing in your pocket.

It's been my experience that you get used to it. If your worrying about the bulge at the base of your pocket and the way it looks than the bandanna handkerchief method works fine. I just got used to it after a short period of time.

Well today I carried the medium trapper and it works as well as any medium stockman. Rides comfortably in a pair of slacks and I do find I like this patter quite a lot. I have a new appreciation for CV steel, it takes such a keen edge and sharpens so easy. I am usually a stainless guy but the CV peanut I got the other day and then the new trapper, seriously has me thinking. One question, I had a large case trapper a while back and I don't recall it having half stops but my medium does, is this normal?

2. Look for pants with deep watch pockets. I have a pair of jeans with a watch pocket that will swallow a GEC #23.

That must feel great sitting down:p. I find I can go up to about 3 1/2" in the average watch pocket. Anything longer goes in my right front pocket with my keys and a pen. Right now there's a slimline trapper floating around in there, and it's not even noticeable.

Well, I don't carry it there - I just noticed that it actually fits!;)

My watch pocket knives (if my pants are so equipped) are a Case peanut and GEC #25 Barlow.

I carry my knives in the left back pocket while I keep the wallet in the right. I'll put my phone in the back left pocket with the knife if I have to. I've never had a problem with it coming out this way. Never even had a 'near loss'. Maybe consider carrying a peanut in your watch pocket as a backup in case you have a hard time getting the one in your back pocket out such as sitting in an awkward position.
