Questions regarding the ZT 300

Just curious, do you realize who Thomas is?

Yep, and I would like to hear the answer to the question. I have no bad experiences with KAI warranty department. They did forget me one time when I needed something, but then ended up getting the part to me after another email.

Limited Lifetime Warranty
Zero Tolerance products are guaranteed for the lifetime of the original owner to be free of defects when received from the factory. Any product we find to be defective in its original material, construction, or workmanship will be repaired or replaced with the same item or one of equal value at no charge. Include your name, address, telephone number, and a short explanation of the warranty service requested to the address below. Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

If Kershaw will replace a broken blade due to prying that would be awesome, but this says that it is not covered.

This point always confuses me.

A knife especialy a folding knife is a CUTTING tool. If in an emergency or out of stpidity I use it as a prybar, and it breaks....WHY would I think that the manufacturer should have to reimburse me for my stupidity.

I just don't get it.

I have owned 2 sng's 1 smf 1 ar & 1 gb.
They all have been sold after I got my zt 301.
I find the 301 to be a better piece overall for the price.

KLJTech... are you anywhere near Stuart, if so there is a dealer that carries the ZT line as well as militaries, unfortunately no Striders.

No, unfortunately that's on the other side of the state. I'll most likely go ahead and buy one from one of the good online stores and IF I don't like it I'll return it for exchange or refund. From what I've seen and read I have little doubt that I'll be very happy with the ZT 300.

It's funny, I finally got use to carrying a smaller knife as part of my 3 knife EDC rotation (Skirmish & Manix) when I bought the Spyderco Sage 2 (great knife) and now I back to looking at another somewhat big and heavy folder.

I was leaning more towards the Spyderco Titanium Military rather than the ZT but my oldest son (who'll one day own these knives) likes the "look" of the ZT over the Spyderco. No big deal, we all know how this works, you buy one and then in about a week you start thinking about buying the other. :D

I have a ZT 301 and a 0200 both great knives. Have you looked at the original Manix. Its been discontinued but they are available in the exchanges from time to time. It is also a great heavy use knife.

Oh yeah, the original Manix C95 is one of my 3 knife EDC rotation, I LOVE that knife.

What the warranty says, and what we actually do for our valuable customers contradict each other pretty much daily. If we warrantied according to the current policy, an enormous percentage of the returns we get back would not be covered, yet we take care of the "defect" most every time.

SE, I'll put it to you this way, if there is any manufacturer that exceeds our service, tolerance, and understanding with regards to warranty, then they qualify as a customer first organization, and should be recognized as such.

Yes it sure is! Where are you?

Michigan now, use to live there years ago. Was just there over Christmas and checked it out for the first time. They use to be a couple of stores over in that same strip mall last time I was there before that. Stuart, along with surrounding Port St. Lucie, Jensen Beach, Rio, Jupiter, etc, changes alot everytime I visit.

Nice store but the prices on the pistols and rifles seemed a little high compared to my regular haunt up here, although not a lot.

Pretty nice selection of knives, but it was before I became interested in folders and the ZT series so I didn't pay alot of attention although I did look.

Small world, huh? :D

Definitely a small world. You are right on about the store. They also can be hard to deal with unless you will pay MSRP for their inventory. No wonder they have 6 and 7 year old knives.
