Great work John!

I still need to find the time to work on my shelter skills...

I really like the Teepee design I think if you where with a buddy and you could button your ponchos together you'd have a pretty decent shelter with enough room for 2 bodies..

Excellent demo. I'm saving this this thread to a PDF file!

That teepee set up makes the perfect 'padi-cakes' station !

I like the set up where you have part of the poncho as a ground tarp. Good idea. Thanks for posting.

I like that little 3 sided shelter. Looks like the perfect bivvy tarp.

Anyone know how big ponchos are opened up?

John, you over looked that nifty little deer stand behind you in one of the pictures! Great rig play seriously; shows all the configurations that one can pitch with a poncho in a quick amount of time.

Sweet set ups. Really like the 3 sided lean to. Looks like something I would like to try sometime.

Sweet John, Im thinking of picking a surplus poncho up sometime, you just made me want one more.:D

THanks for the Compliments everyone. 1Tracker. It's actually just my Nephew's tree house in the back ground..but it does make a nifty spot to zing squirrels from.

I use a poncho often in Brazil combined with a lightweight bivy and natural shelter they are all you need. That Poncho Teepee set-up works well with a bivy. I have used that as overhead cover letting my feet hang out the side in the bivy. That set-up gives you room to sit up and cook with a stove. Rigging up a poncho it helps to make them as tight as possible. Any sag will be seriously affected by condensation/dew that typically forms and they sometimes form drips that can be annoying. Mac

Nice! I really need to find a good quality poncho. I like the Filson too! Got one just like it, lol.
