Quick Questiong on how to do a refund

HEy all,

I am just wondering would any off you consider giveing a refund to someone you have had no prior dealings with prior to them returnign the knife. Is it customary on BF?
 
If someone were returning an item that they had purchased from me, I would not issue the refund until it had arrived to me and I verified its condition. I would handle this in the same manner regardless of whether I had dealt with the buyer in the past.
 
Yeah see thats what i think but this one guy is threatning me with bad feedback if i dont refund befor he sends it and it just seems strange to me if i was going to rip him off i would have never sent the knife in the first place

If anyone is making threats please post their name. I for 1 would want to avoid that sort. Hold your ground and tell this person to return the knife then a refund will be made.
 
Oh no there is no physical threats or anything liek that they are jsut saying if I dont refund the money before I recieve the knife they will leave me negative feedback. I am not to worried about it i just wanted to make sure it wasnt common practice on BF to refund befor the item is returned
 
Its just i got in a confruntation with a guy on here abotu a week ago and for some reason i have a hunch that they are conected

Sounds like he might be trying to scam you if your story is accurate.
I for one,would like to know who he is and what the forum name is, I don't need to deal with people that do business in that manner.Perhap's he can come here and explane his side???????
 
it was in this forum I dont want to give out any names as off yet just cause last time I did that it just turned into a huge mess. I will jsut wait and see how it turns out I sold hima benchmade 800 for 100 bucks it was like new. He is now sayign it was all gritty, offcentered, and has been sharpened.
 
You must be talking about me. I purchased an 800 from Royals1982 that he claimed was near mint. “There’s just a little scratch on the clip, but that’s all I can see”, he said. In reality, the 800 has obvious wear marks. The G10 scales are smooth in spots; the blade is scratched, has been sharpened, and is off center. The inside of the handle was full of dust and lint.

After being disappointed by the condition of the knife, I checked out the flame war between him and another forumite. It was one of the most immature, yet entertaining displays of ignorance I've witnessed on this forum. It left me with the impression that he is extremely childish, probably not too bright about knives, but still I wanted to give him the opportunity to make things right. So I sent him an email in which I complained about the knife and asked him to either give me a partial refund and I would keep the knife or refund the full amount and I'd return the knife.

Why did I ask for a refund before returning the knife? That’s simple; I don’t trust him. He was very misleading about the condition of the knife and his demeanor on the board makes me trust him even less. He even claimed that I must be the guy that he had a conflict with previously.

So I confronted him and asked for a refund before sending the knife. Did I threaten him? Dang right I threatened him. I threatened to leave feedback on GB&U on Friday if he didn't give me a refund.

Bottom line: I’ve probably done close to 100 transaction on BF since I joined 2 years ago and this is by far the worst guy I’ve ever dealt with. Stay away from Royals1982.

Royals, what is the problem that you can't seem to make knife deal without posting some whining BS in GB&U. You sound like many of the sleezy e-bayers that just can't seem to correctly list and honestly describe a knife, and then want to bitch and complain because a guy you tried to ripoff wants a fair return.

You need to make this right with Slatts...ASAP.


I hope this gets resolved quickly and keep us posted on the resolution.

My ebay id is royals1982 also, I would gladly take the knife back slatts if I was going to intentially rip you off why would I have even sent you the knife in the first place.
 
and 45 ACP i am not whineing I was really just seeking others oppinion I had that one guy screw me around last week. I cant make you believe me and I dont really care if you do or not I had a bout 20 knifes to sell for a friend I figured BF would be cheaper and easier than ebay. I have sold all the knifes I have so I have no use for the forum anymore I want to make things right with slatts as I have with others if they wernt happy. After that guy editing emails and all that stuff last week I just dont trust anyone on here anymore. WOuldnt it make sense if i intentially wanted to screw him over I would not have even sent the knife. I have a balisong for sale at the moment but more than likely I will give it back to the guy. I am not going to sell anything else on the forum. Not cause i dont liek it it is just cause I have no more knifes. I do not know much about knifes but I do my best to be honest in my discriptions. Even though I have no longer have a use for BF i still want to make this deal right. I think that shows character in itself. Believe me or not I dont really give a shit I have no use for any of you anymore however I dont like leaving people with a sour taste in their mouth that is why I am happy to refund slatts money upon recipt of the knife. I am not going to do it any other way.

imho ya sure seem to have lots of problems, i do swaps/etc all the time and i have never had to go to GBU with complaints, only to post so and so is good to deal with. go figure.

as far as descriptions of what ya sell i always err on the side of making it sound worse than it is, a lot of folks on here are collectors and if the knife isnt LNIB they dont want the thing so if ya describe it as LNIB and it isnt ya are just waisting folks time & $$ (not that ya did that mind ya), so imho its imperative to give an accurate description of the goodsespecially if ya dont have ability to post pics.

also i have sold items were the individual wasnt happy and we both returned the others stuff simultaneously so imho there is no need to wait to recieve the thing.

Thanks for posting this. When you and shao got in your little bitch-fight I wasn't sure if one or the other of you, or both of you, were assholes. You've cleared up half of that question for me.
