Quilts in the woods?

I found through extensive research that the Ray Way quilts use too much material for SUL backpackers like me.

Yes, one has to be careful that they don't carry a quilt that is too warm or heavy. We have several different weight quilts for the changing seasons and environments. It is the same for sleeping bags -- having to dial in just what is needed, and no more.

I carried a light weight mummy bag for thousands of miles on the trails...and never was comfortable. I REALLY dislike being confined in a tapered tube. The quilts have solved this problem for me. I can easily sleep on my side or stomach with a quilt.

The pink is VERY BRIGHT, Bearthedog! :D

She wouldn't have it any other way!

For a girl who is always freezing, I am shocked at how she loves a tarp and quilt over a sleeping bag:thumbdn: and tent:barf:.

I don't think they are for everyone but like any piece of gear, once you find something that works for you, it just makes sense!

I know whatcha mean. I prefer green or earth-tones, my wife loves RED. Needless to say, we have a couple of red quilts to keep everybody happy. :)
