I'd LOVE to try a fully serrated Spydie and I've narrowed it down to the Native, Native III, Salt, Delica or Cricket. What's the MUST have SE Spydie?

That would be the Harpy...:D

I mostly said that because it wasn't in your list. Any of them would do the trick but the Cricket is such a small blade you might not realize the full "Wow" of the SE. The Native and Native III are pretty much the same thing and the Delica and Salt are pretty much the same thing so it is just which handle you like better.

imho the top SE spydercos are the civilian and police, i dont even care for the PE versions of those 2.

The Police is THE serrated edge knife, in my opinion. It cuts great, and even works as a saw because of the long edge. It's vicious looking, though.

It's not often that ZEN and I agree but when he's right you got to give him a "high five" :D The Harpy is my primary Hawkbill EDC and has been for a few months now. The Serrated Harpy gives you some advantage with the Hawkbill blade because when you are pulling with the cut you always have a shearing action by virtue of the geometry of the blade. The SE Spyderhawk is also a great selection but it is a big folder and should be used for industrial sized cutting jobs.

Now for a conventional Spyderco Folder I would have to give a vote to the stainless handled Rescue model. It is one of the most solid knives Spyderco ever built and it is one very agressive cutting tool.

There are a lot of good serrated Spyders because they are truly the king of serrated blades. There are a lot of Spyders that they don't offer in serrated that I wish they would. One being the Chinook III. Now that would be a serrated monster

Garageboy you can't go wrong with any of the SE knives on your list:thumbup: . One of my most-used knives is my SE Salt I and I would highly recommend it - it's very light and zero maintenance, plus H-1 is easy to sharpen and is at its best in SE form.

My D4 is my favorite knife and it is an ideal EDC as far as I am concerned. The D4 handle fits my hand perfectly and I love the pocket clip on this one. VG-10 is a great all-around steel combining ease of sharpening and edge retention.

Let us know what you get and how you like it.

I'm considering going with a full SE H1 blade for my next knife purchase. I've heard that the combination of H1 and SE yeilds excellent edge results, with hardness approaching the upper 60's after some use and abuse.

I had a similar notion and went for the serrated Almite R2–it just seemed so uniquely "all Spyderco" to me.
I also like my mostly serrated 1st gen. Native–my first Spyderco.
Really, all the above suggestions make sense to me. The serrated Police blade is wild.
Good luck!

For looks there's nothing more beautiful than a fully serrated Police model. However a bit large for urban EDC.

Furthermore taking your unlucky "adventure" with your Para in account,:grumpy: I would go with the Cricket/SE. You will be amazed by the cutting power of that little serrated blade. My SS Cricket/SE has been my sole EDC for the past couple of days and I can't say that I've missed a bigger blade;)

As much as I love the Police and Military, I wanna be able to carry em. I might grab a Mil SE when I go camping, though

GarageBoy, for a try of SE I recommend you either the Delica or the Salt. Both would give you a good feeling of the use/advantage/disadvantage of a serrated blade and you haven't to invest a lot of money.

@ D3/SE: Cricket for sole EDC and you haven't missed a bigger blade? I guess you don't cut apples with your EDC

I'm personally thinking about getting an SE Pacific Salt and having STR put a Wave on it. Now that would be a steak knife from hell.

Police, then I say the Endura.

Blades
Zackley my sentiments. If you're carrying SE, you might as well go long. I like the Police a little better then the Endura but I like the lightness of the Endura when carrying two knives. You can cut some pretty hard stuff very easy with a long SE.

I have a few SE blades ;) I will tell you that my SE Caly 3 gets most pocket time hands down. It is very well made, molds to your hand, and the full flat grind cuts like a lightsaber, and we all know how well Spyderco G-10 holds up, and how good it feels in the hand. Also vg-10 is great for SE, its very sharp without being prone to chipping.

You will carry it, and who knows it might even pull you to the SE side 90%. It converted me

Hi all from a forum newbie. I have four SE Spydies and I would recommend them all. My Ladybug rides on my key chain and can tackle most common tasks where I don't need the leverage of a larger handle, My ZDP-189 Delica will cut just about anything (metaphorically speaking), My A.T.R will clear a room of NKP
just by just having them look at it (metaphorically speaking again ;) ), but my Almite R2 is my quintessential SE Spydie. I'm tempted to ask my neighbors to save me all their corrugated cardboard boxes just that my R2 can get a good workout :p
