Quintessential SE Spydie?

Endura in any and all variations, I would recommend the BRG/ZDP SE version highly.
Cheers,
Rob

I would get the Caly 3 in full serrations. It just looks nice, but not mean. If you want mean, Military SE or Endura SE are good. Lighthound has the Military SE in S30V for only $97 right now!!!

+1 for the Caly 3 SE. I carry mine routinely and it has converted me into an SE fanboy.

You guys missed one though. The original full size Calypso in SE is simply the most bad@ss SE ever made in my opinion.

I just got a SE D4 and it has converted me. It is also a relatively inexpensive way to try out a SE knife to see if you are going to like it.

I would say either the Endura or Rescue would be the quintessential SE knives. The Endura is one of the few knives ever made that actually looks BETTER as full SE, IMO.

I guess I am overdoing it by doing 2 posts on this thread but I just remembered a serrated Spyder that I used to have that I no longer have that was just super. It was the serrated version of the JD Smith. It had a very pointed and streamlined blade that could get into about any cutting situation. Now the JD Smith has become so collectible that probably very few of them are being used anymore.

Another comeback candidate

GarageBoy, for a try of SE I recommend you either the Delica or the Salt. Both would give you a good feeling of the use/advantage/disadvantage of a serrated blade and you haven't to invest a lot of money.

@ D3/SE: Cricket for sole EDC and you haven't missed a bigger blade? I guess you don't cut apples with your EDC

First of all I hate any fruit with a passion Peter:barf:

Furthermore I indeed never cut food with my EDC;)

My favorites are the SE ATR and SE Native. The black Native is nice, but not nearly as smooth as the normal version.

Nobody mention about D'Allara Rescue? Got mine for about a month (got the drop point version earlier) and getting fond of it. It is the only SE in my collection. It open very smooth, really fit my hand well and most importantly, cuts like hell. Suggest you give it a try.

Well Tamirzaki you are probably the very first person I have heard that bragged about the D'Allara model. It is a great knife as most of Spyderco blades are. There are a lot of people who don't like the ball bearing locking system and there are a lot of people who don't care for the bulkiness of the handle. I had one for a while but I never used it. But I am sure it would be a great first responder knife. It is what I've always called one of Spyderco's unsung heros for sure.

When it comes to the RESCUE series I think that the STainless handled RESCUE is the most solidly built knife Spyderco ever made. I've often wondered why Spyderco didn't make one of the RESCUE series with a G-10 handle  Personally I still miss the old Mariners. Truly a Hallmark knife that paved the way.

The Military w/s30v is a pocket chainsaw IMHO. I have used mine for SO many different chores and it never fails me. I have a Police SE as well, it's heavier and I don't feel it is as sharp as the Mili....

1.the military SE is hardcore. huge.

2.the SE delica is awesome. so much cutting power on a smaller knife.

3.the SE endura is also pretty good. big and durabe. lots of cutting power.

the SE massad ayoob looks awesome, but i doubt ill ever get my hands on one of those.
