R.I.P Holger Enge aka Cockroachfarm

Neil,

Several years back when I first met Holger, he and I were involved in the same thread, I think in the Traditional Forum if memory serves. Anyway, before long we were fast forum friends like many I have made here. And I soon realized he was a man of outstanding qualities.

He always stood out because of his nice sense of humor, thoughtful discussion as well as an uncommonly keen friendship loyalty. He indeed will be sorely missed!.

I wish you and his family my most thoughtful sorrow at his passing and my fervent prayers today.

Anthony

I enjoyed his presence here in the forum, much more than the majority. He had a sharp wit and an open sense of humor.
My condolences to his friends and family.
Rest in peace.

hope to see some of fellow knife collectors there as I'm sure we will all miss Holger and his efforts to promote Custom Knives.

Very sorry to hear this sad news of Holger's passing. We talked on many occasions and he was always a pleasure to talk to and very informative. I'll miss seeing him at the ckg show.

No not another friend and good soul,

Just wrote to Holger after his update before I left for vacation. Things sounded much more promising.

He will be dearly missed.

This hurts too much right now. We have lost a great ambassador, I have lost a good friend.

Neil,

Just tried to call you.

Holger and I talked several times since Blade. You are a dear and good friend to him.
Thank you for being there.

Somehow I totally missed this and I am stunned! Neil, I feel your loss, Holger was not a close friend of mine but a friend none the less. He will be missed by all.

R.I.P., My friend

Win

A number of knife folk attended the Celebration of Life for Holger Enge yesterday including Neil Ostroff, Eric Elson, Dale, Tipert, Phyllis Barrett and myself. It was a very full house and quite a few different folks including Neil told stories about Holger and his life. Sean, his son, will continue his collection and cherish it as much as Holger did.

Sad. I like his posts here, and i knew of his work with greyhounds thru a fellow greyhound keeper.

Sad to hear this, Rest In Peace Sir, the world has lost a good man.

His family and close friends have lost a loved one,we forumites have lost a much valued contributor and comrade. We are poorer for it.

I don't usually check out this subforum due to time constraints, so this is fresh news to me..
I didn't know Holger except though his psuedonym and his wit - he brought a lot to BFC - my sincerest condolences to his kin and to Neil...
He will be missed...

Holger he sure was one of a kind

I had only met Holger twice and both times were at this years CKG show. I'm quite confident in saying that I probably spent a better part of 2 days just talking and shooting the shit with him. What can I say I love Spydies and he was manning the table where all the Spydies were at .

He was truly unique in every sense of the word. His love of knives & watches, his comical humor, and just an overall larger than life attitude set him apart from the rest. For the two days he introduced me to many many things which I never really looked at before.

He was one of the first individuals who introduced me to the world of custom knives. You really had to be on your toes to understand all his witty remarks and he was just the life of the party. He in a few short hours got me very interested about the world of customs.

He gave me a business card and we spoke for many many months online. Holger was always willing to answer any question I had, and give me advise. I didn't realize he was a writer, and when I stumbled upon one of his articles and I was truly impressed. It seems like just yesterday holger was telling me about his daughter graduating from College and we were also planning a meet and greet. Sure would have loved meeting him one last time.

Holger was the best of us, and those that knew him are better for it. Friends like him come along once in a life time. Life is short and each day should be lived as if it will be your last.

R.I.P bro it won't be the same CKG show with yah eh
