VG's mother left me a message about 40 minutes ago. She has been notified that Dave has passed away. The neighbors went over to check on him and found him sitting on the couch. Both dogs were sitting next to him.

At this point she obviously does not know the cause of death. I imagine an autopsy will be performed. She was told that the Sheriff Department will be contacting her for information.

Edith (Dave's mom) is looking for the information she has somewhere regarding Dave's burial wishes. She knows that he wants to be buried next to Stacie.

I have returned Edith's call, but got her voicemail. Voicemail picked up immediately so she was probably talking on the phone regarding Dave. I told her to call me at any hour of the day.

I am not sure at this point what needs to be done or what we can do to help. When I find out more information I will let you know. I know he was moving to a new apartment, but do not know if he had already moved. I last talked to Dave about 2 weeks ago, right before he was scheduled to move.

The only thing I can say is that I know that the Vampire Gerbil is no longer in pain on this earth. Pain was his constant companion, and not a very good one at that. If you believe in Heaven and Hell, then what I want to believe is that Dave has been reunited with Stacie and is finally happy once more.

Dave could be a pain in the behind, but what a great pain he was. He will be missed. At least he will be missed by me.

Maybe Dave can be MY Guardian Angel.

Damn. So Sad. What a shame. He was one of the good guys from "way back in the olden days".
We'll miss ya big fella.
Be at peace.

Peace at last.

His was a unique voice. I won't forget him. :(

Thank you, Judy, for your compassion and your kind spirit.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dave in person at Blade, must have been 4-5 years ago. I'm pleased we crossed paths, as brief as it was, and certainly hope his family can find peace with his passing. I'll always remember the chuckles he brought. Safe passages my friend,
With Sadness,
Clyde

I did not know him , but knew of his humor and antics.

This is sad news.

RIP Bro. :(:(

I never had the pleasure of crossing paths with V-G,

but his passing is a loss to all of us.

Rest in Peace bro.

I am very sad at his passing, but grateful that he passed this way.
In his prime I didn't know of anyone with a quicker wit, or a kinder heart.
His heart was broken at the loss of Stacie, and then crushed by the loss of his girls.
I don't think there was any way to mend his heart or his damaged body.

Judy, I want to thank you again for all you tried to do for Dave, I know he didn't make it easy for you. Bless all pf you that helped and cared about my friend.

Dave, RIP, give Stacie a kiss for all of us. Say, "Hi" to James Mattis, Bob Irons, Gadi, Dr Walt Welch, Rob Simonich and the rest of our BFC brothers.

Dave was (and always will be) one of the most enduring "characters" of the internet!

RIP Buddy, The knife gods know you've earned it!

He's in good company. I can almost hear the collective groans and laughs when they find out Dave's on the way...
