Racism run amuck ?

I am a Viking-American, and in our Viking-American community we never say "amuk", "amok" or any other variation. In polite company we use the term "berserk". Anyone who says the "a-word" is gently corrected, and by gently we Viking-Americans mean "by methods NOT involving objects with points, edges, or spikes, but a skull on the end of a shortstaff and stuffed with lead shot is perfectly acceptable".

After the brawl the lead shot and staff are removed so the skull can be used as a drinking implement.

Just as well, cause anything with "points, edges, or spikes" is probably illegal in Boston. Must be tough for you Vikings to live there. Y'all cant even have horns on your helmets that are longer than 2 1/2 inches. :D

It's only a slur if it's used to describe people. Food can still be "oriental" - people are "Asian".

Well, there you go, Novadak.:confused::eek::rolleyes:

I guess you're a racist for calling yourself an "Oriental".;)

Is that racism run A-mock?;)

OH THE HUMANITY!

Asians eat with chopsticks because those are convenient utinsils made with locally available materials.. The goal of eating is to get food into your mouth. My asian friends don't fool around when it comes to eating and don't care how sloppy,noisy or to many western minds rude when you eat. The only real faux pas is to leave your chopsticks in your rice as that is done at funerals.

What's the correct etiquette then, if said restaurant cooks and serves Asians as described in post #32?

Have you no pride in our Asian heritage???
Next time I'm home I might just run amok on ya. :mad: :mad: :mad:

What was the racist slur used on air?
second, I've read and heard some racist slurs made that one would ask, huh? how did that word become a racist slur to describe a group?
guess, hatred knows no bounds.

Thats why we allow the skull-on-a-stick as a polite Viking's weapon around here. Its legal until the Law starts asking meddlesome, unwarrented questions like "is that skull real, and where did it come from". Real Viking-Americans don't wear helmets or armor. We go into battle in bearskins in the winter, and naked the rest of the year, which brings me discuss an area of law enforcement and policy that we Viking-Americans consider intrusive and unwanted...

Oh and Will, Asian is a genetic term. Viking is a cultural thing. And by culture I mean "lack thereof; i.e, the messy consumption of large pieces of cows".

This thread was hilarious, had me laughing out loud. I just got back this weekend from a business trip, and this stuff is exactly what I need...:D :D

Great thread, but as a general rule, all radio hosts are tools and simply live to stir up controversy. Oh, and the way I eat with chopsticks would definately be insulting to anyone asian.

Tacos, rice, or baked raccoons,
put away your knives and spoons,
no more chopsticks, no more forks;
everybody: eat with sporks!

They have a disgusting canned meat product in Canadia called Spork.

Well, that is why we don't see too many naked Vikings around Boston, where winter constitues about 50 or so weeks of the year.....

:D

I grew up around NYC and Westchester County, and we had ice & snow in the winter, but I never got cold like Boston ... until I went to Brandeis Univ.

I never forgot the day I stumbled back into my dorm, cracked the ice out of my beard, and took off my watchcap -- and took off a cap of ice off my watchcap. I think that was winter '61-'62.

The Vikings would never have made it up the Charles River without an icebreaker out in front of their knorrs ... and thermal underwear under their bearskins.

They would have made it to Boston University... at least, at high tide, to the spot in the bay where my school would later be located...

And they would have SLAIN the FRESHMEN and PILLAGED the DORMS (except WARREN TOWERS, the crummiest place to live on campus) and SACKED the SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT and STOLEN ex-president JOHN SILBER'S expensive CARPETING and FURNISHMENTS.

Except NONE of that was there yet when my cultural ANCESTORS arrived in the new world and SLEW the intelligent homicidal wild ELEPHANTS that lived on CAPE COD, then left for Greenland so the NATIVE AMERICANS could colonize the area and WELCOME the PILGRIMS so they could BUILD the GREAT AMERICAN civilization.

Are you kiddin? Boston is downright balmy compared to northern New England and where the Vikings colonized up around the mouth of the St Lawrence River really gets cold.

If you want to see cold in the winter, check out places like the Powder River basin in Wyoming and Montana. I worked around the town of Lusk (we referred to it as Lust) Wyoming in 1978 when it got down to -55°F with a wind. It always snows sideways in Wyoming.
