I see the purpose of this gun is to stop a charging rhino or other big game. i thought that was what you hired the locals for?

Think I would be going to the AK with a full mag of 7.62. If I put a mag of that into something and it survived then i'd die of shock before the animal got me.

Question is which one of you is going to get one, and when you do are you going to get some infi rounds for it?

That would be interesting to see  I am sure not much will still live if a full 30rd of 7.62 was put through it. It is a matter of getting a immediate stop right NOW!

I have a hunting video called Game of Death and the guide in there uses a 700 Nitro very effectively and precisely. It showed him saving the ass of a few clients using smaller calibers like the 416Rigby.

In one scene they approach this huge ass Hippo about the size of a small pickup truck. When they get about 20yrds or so the friggin thing starts charging like a freight train. The client shoots and didn't even phase its charge. When the hippo approaches about 8ft the guide puts a slug right through its head and the thing just drops like a sack of potatoes and keep sliding foward because of the momentum. It continues sliding with blood squirting out like a fountain till it is about about 12" to the guide. By now the client is behind the guide pissing in his paints :D That was the most awesome dangerous game hunting scene that I have ever seen  Keep in mind that all happened within a 2-3 second time frame.

A local gunsmith built one of those, 577 T-REX on a surplus mauser action I was lucky enough to be at the range the day he set it off. I was surprised that the muzzle blast was really no different than that of a 12 gauge firing 3'' magnums , but after 3rds he had had enough !

That last video is just crazy funny. I don't want to be anywhere near that gun when it goes off. Might lose an eye or piece of skull just for being a innocent bystander :D

That is a 600 Nitro Express pistol. No human could hold on to that with the full power load. There was another video with the gun's owner (Not the beardo who doesn't know how to hold a gun)firing a light load, and it was pretty fierce recoil.

That is because those .50 cal are friggin like 50lbs and have a huge muzzle brake to help reduce recoil. Well at least the Barrett and another bolt action .50cal I shot was heavy and had huge muzzle brakes.

That T-Rex they were shooting is some serious elephant slaying stuff if they can hold on do the darn thing :D I think that round is right up there with the 700 Nitro Express.

I hope not. My right shoulder STILL hurts from firing that cartridge.

Woof.

All of these shooters have a VERY weak stance. It is not wonder that that pea-shooter is kicking like a mule. I thought the dude with the button-down and blue jeans (3rd or 4th shooter) had a chance, but noooooo.

That old man in the second vid just about had his melon cracked open.

Why do people have the tendency to "lay back" while shooting? You gotta step into the firearm to control the recoil.

Haha, I'd love to shoot something like that! I don't see much practicality in those kinds of guns for me, but they're fun to shoot! I really like the Smith and Wesson 460 and 500 magnums. Friggin bears...I can't even imagine a 60 cal :p that would be a whopper! Has anyone shot the 30/30 Magnum Research revolver? That one looks bad ass!

Why are so many of the men in Raden's class wearing moo-moos?

No, I have not. However, I have shot a .458 Casull.:p What a kick that was to shoot.

I went to and indoor range a few years ago with a buddy of mine. There were probably 8-10 other shooters there. We had spent about 300 rounds of .40 and .45s along with a couple of mags of .50 AEs through a Desert Eagle. So he pulls out the .458 Casull and doned a gel shooting glove. I stood behind him a couple of feet as he took aim down range. With the "pimg...... ping...... ping," of the other shooters with their 9 mike mikes ringing through my cans, then the breath taking, chest beating WHOOOOMP of the .458.

The place was suddendly got quiet except for the WTF was that and the Range Master laughing his #ss off.

It felt like someone slugged me in the chest! I just had to shoot that MONSTER. And what a kick it was.

The 454 is sweet! I thought that was a beast until shooting the 460 which is built off the 454 just like the 454 is built off the 45 Colt. That thing's a monster! I only got to put a couple cylinders through a friends, but WOW!!!! I want one with a 5'' barrel. I'd probably end up shooting 45's through it for the most part though...just feels knarly holding a pistol that big!

this is the pistol in the last video

CNN reported that gas stations will start showing porn at the pump so you can watch someone else get screwed at the same time you do!

I have not shot one but I remember Hogwash telling me that he has a BFR Revolver in 475Linebaugh.:eek:

Call me a wuss but a 454 Casull is more than enough for me. If the animal does not go down with a well place 454 loaded with a 320-340gr WFN Hardcast bullet then I have no business shooting at it in the first place :D

Those 460 and 500 Smith and Wesson are just monster guns. Luckily they are equipped with muzzle brakes or else the recoil would be horrendous. A friend of mine tells me that they are not as bad as the 454 because of the muzzle brake.

...reminds me of when I was about 17 years old and had just bought a "cool" pistol grip for my 12 ga Winchester Defender, the first shot with a 3" slug kicked back and hit me square in the mouth cutting my lip and knocking my front tooth loose... the pistol grip was quickly and quietly removed never to be used again!

Shooting slugs one handed?
