"RadioActive Duty" (RAD) Coming This Sunday December 12, 2021, at 9:00pm Eastern!!!!. . . . . With a NUCLEAR Option!!!!

Generally that's what that means. And not trying to be snarky. It's just at this point, with new releases and Ganzaas and stuff, I feel I can only speak in generalities.
Ok cool. I’m new to Busse knives and the few I’ve bought were second hand so never dealt directly with them

Meltdown is where all the sharp edges are smoothed out/rounded off.
Nuclear seems to be somethin different for every knife.

The first you mention would be the 'Nuclear Meltdown' treatment. That is something I believe is a part of Busse history at this point, as I don't believe they've used that terminology in at least a decade now with knife designs. There were two main features with those models (NM Special Forces Natural Outlaw & NM Fusion Battle Mistress) which bumped the blade length up an inch or so from the base model and also added the ball bearing finish to all exposes edges on the knife. They still do similar rounding/radius treatments though little I've seen that are done similarly to the level of polish on those surfaces.

At this point, 'Nuclear Option' means whatever Jerry decides it to be. On the FMV8, it was a blind pick of fancy Custom Handles. A few offerings of recent have been 'hand laminated G-10/micarta' handles with blind picks. Nano Fusion Natural Outlaw, Forsaken Steel Heart, Forsaken Battle Mistress -- all featured something like a lightened blade (fuller or swedge) and a lightened handle. The term 'Nuked' has also in the past been use for knives with a Custom swedge grind which was fully sharpened and serrated, I believe.

Well this looks interesting. I also said no more blades, I resisted the Triceratops. But I have been hoping for more smaller blades from Busse. I really like my Park Rangers and I usually carry one every day. But I have nothing else to compare them too. Yes I might have to get one in Satin and Maroon.

I just ordered the Triceratops, so do I need this or do I save for 10 of the upcoming folders. 😁

Forgive my ignorance, but the Double Cut is the Big DC finish, right? And the satin finish is competition?

Negative. All four are different finishes. BIG was before my time, and I’m not sure of the specifics. Double Cut is bead blasted. Looks good, but shows scratches pretty easily. Competition hides scratches and use marks fairly well. Satin is essentially a polished Competition finish. Easy to mark up, but easier to clean up, as well. Perhaps a more experienced, less sleepy hog can better explain the differences.

Double Cut Bead Blasted starts off somewhat polished, near satin, then is bead blasted to give the matte look which is free of all tool marks. BIG Double Cut is not free of tool marks entirely, though close, and then double cut. BIG Satin is a sort of rough satin with tooling marks. Satin is free of all tool marks and shiny. Competition Finish is not free of tool marks or dimples and has had most if not all of the scale and decarb removed with something like a Scotch Brite Wheel, slightly shiny.
