For some bad news today, guy secondly want insured, the car was totaled so we owe or deductible and payoff didn't cover about 800$, (plus the loss of the money we put into the transmission)

We have to get a new car before next Friday before the rental runs out.

Can't go on forever though, even bad luck has limits ;)
 
maybe you are looking at this wrong. Sounds like tremendous good luck no one was killed or severely injured and it was just the car.

With all you have on your plate lately a hiccup is understandable.

A do-over would be fair IMO,(I hope Mr. Moore agrees) no need for refunds, helping you guys was the whole reason for the raffle after all.:)
 
After giving this some thought, I've just emailed Peter this.

I am inclined to let this stand as it is. This wasn't about winning a knife, this was a fundraiser and I would have put the knife up for auction to raise more funds if I won. If Mr. Moore feels a do over is in order then let that be the case.

There is no need for a refund.

I received the knife this morning and wow what a beauty! I feel truly blessed to have won such an awesome knife and would like to thank Andy (mqqn) and everyone else who participated in this fundraiser.
