Raindrops are the most time consuming pattern that I make in damascus but it comes out looking good and well worth the effort.
I forged the billet from 135 layers of 15N20 and 1084 high carbon steel
I heat treated with three normalizing and two tempering cycles in my Evenheat furnace with attention to a fine grain structure throughout the blade. This is especially important in a blade this thin that needs to flex in use.
Flat to slightly convex grind
Rosewood handle
Overall length: 11 1/4 inches
Blade: 6 3/4 inches
Leather scabbard with a belt loop for a right hand carry
$240 delivered within the US. My PayPal and email address is gldrewknives@gmail.com
