While i was at it I decided to do something about the lock. The lock works but there is not alot there to get grip on as it does not set far out from the scale or have an aggressive pattern. I took a 5/32" file and worked down 3 grooves in the plastic on the button itself. This helped me get a better grip with my thumb. I decided to finish it off and took the scale while it was off and used the same file to work down the edges of the scale in front and behind the button. This was a huge help. I now have no problem biting my thumb in there.
I suggest this mod to every one! It was super easy to do too.

I like it. Might have to try buffing the g10 on mine with a scotch bright wheel.
 
Depending on how smooth you want it, not much work is required.
