Rambo knife...has seen better days

It is worth whatever allowance money you can talk the 12yr old neighbour kid out of...

I've got one that sits in my basement, got it around 1983 I believe. It's complete, all innards intact and even has the super rough stone in its pouch. These things were really popular at the time with 10-13 year olds and I knew a lot of people (boy scouts etc) who had them. I remember taking it camping and doing god knows what with it. I looked at it recently and noticed how bad my sharpening skills were at the time, scratches galore from the stone. I can't believe they are still being made.

We should have an auction here for it. Winner gets the knife, the nails and picture of Jenicide.

That reminds me of something I have been thinking about lately, those big ass Buck Master "survival" knives with the hollowed out tube handle and those "anchors" on the guard. Never had one, but I wanted one in 1985.

The nails, sadly, I have ripped off. Time to get new ones...I was bored...as for my pic...you definitely can't afford that!!!:D

I'm tellin ya, I'm gettin' offers out the ass for these...obviously laymen to the knife world...but as stated, they like the look of them & perhaps are purchasing nostalgia. I will gladly make that happen for them!!! I'll let ya know how much I get :D

I can't tell if it's a knife with a compass attached or a compass with a knife attached..

It's worth about $3.

I just bought a new one (as kind of a joke) for about $8 after taxes.

Wow, I remember having one of those, probably in the late 80s, when I was playing with my realistic water and cap guns, or I'd be in the woods with my knives and slingshot.

I had a better version as a kid. It had a much heavier handle, and two end caps. One was a heavy thick hammer end, and the other a recessed compass, not a bubble thing.

Much sturdier sheath. It actually lasted for quite a few years. Even stood up to throwing for a while.

Sure brought back some memories!

As you can tell, there is nostalgia and a general (and well deserved) disdain for the quality of those knives. They're messing with ya - we all had them. If you can get more than a few bucks for it, you go girl.

how ever much money you can shove in the handle of that knife is what its worth;) btw that knife looks shittier next to those pretty nails!!!

I think it's possible to store a roll of pennies in it.
Also, I think I'm in love with Jennicide....lol. This whole thread has me wearing a sh*t-eating grin! Bravo!
Jenn, I'm glad you have such a good natured spirit and I hope you aren't taking the jokes about the knife personally. The mere fact that you started this thread makes you a valuable asset to the BF community!
You rock!

I bought a Buckmaster instead. But,it cost one heck of alot more than that. That knife helped feed alot of camp fires.

I'd hate to see the hysteria if I had a pic up...sheesh. I am good natured about it b/c honestly, I thought this would be a toy of memories and not something that could fetch any REAL money. I just had a ton of people asking "How much" so I will definitely try and make something off them. I value actual knowledge from people who know what they are talking about...so I decided to come to this realm and talk to you guys :D

I say fleece the wanna-be Rambo sheeple, Jen. 20 bucks seems about right.

However, taking a closer look at it, I can see the myriad of influences that make up the design.
Part MK 3 MOD 0.
Part Kabar USMC.
Part Randall sheath.
Part kitchen junk drawer bottle opener.
Part G.I. Joe action figure inspired compass.
Part NAPA auto parts impulse buy stickshift knob.

For that much product research, hell....ask a Benjamin for it.

"I hate to say it, but I really want to see it Noss-ified. That would be funny as sh*t!"
i think Noss would break that thing taking it out of the packaging!
