Rambo V Knife?

He should absolutely go old school and use the Lile

With the story taking place in Mexico (the Southwest), perhaps he will carry a knife that reflects his American Indian heritage (referenced in Rambo 2) and from growing up in Arizona (referenced in Rambo 3). Maybe a Winkler knife that isn't too primitive looking.

Something like this...

Don't get me wrong, I love that winkler. In fact it's my Shelby. But it just doesn't say John Jay Rambo to me. I can't express why.... Just too much class and not enough carnage I guess.

Smatchet joke aside, it would be kinda cool to see the original Lile back. Since "Rambo" ended with him returning home, the story could be, that after his imprisonment after "First Blood", all his personal effects had been sent to his Dad, and he finds it there.

I like this idea!

He is an elderly veteran, a civilian, it is long past time he went with a practical folding knife. We know what happened the last time he went for a walk in the states while wearing a big hunting knife.....Perhaps he has learned something after all of these years?

his 68 is still impressive.....my grandpa was similar.

Nobody could dig a goosepit in rocky half frozen ground in Saskatchewan faster than him until he was 62 years old!
And a lot of tough farmers and guys he used to guide would try pretty hard.

And the guy that beat him was his youngest, 28 years old 6'4 and 245lb and it was not by that much.

Looking forward to the movie and the knife(hopefully without the sawback)

Nope, a custom Buck 110 and a custom USA-made tomahawk with hammer, not spike, poll. Self-bow cut from osage orange, cedar arrows. And a .308 mini-gun carefully concealed in a rucksack.

Zieg

Guys please don't forget that a full size axe would be equivalent to a hawk in John J. Rambo's hands. Similar to how a m60 was the equivalent of a m16. But yes I could see John going old school on those cartel scum. I can't wait. I hope it is as dark and raw as Rambo 4 was.

I agree sticking with the Lile would be cool, but he lost it in Rambo 4 on the boat when he first tales the missionaries in. Hence the forge-a-new-one bit. That being said I like the idea of a machete

It was the Hibben knife from Rambo III he lost on the boat if I remember correctly. It wasn't shown in the movie but I think it was mentioned in the script.

I really like the Mission II knife way more than the original Rambo knife from First Blood. It has more heft to it and the black blade coating is sweet. Did not like the Gibben design in R-III so much but will add one to my collection when I get to it on my very long want list.

I think a SAK - and just when everyone is disappointed he could pull out a Winkler Sayoc. It may not be a knife but it'd be hard to hold it against the man.
